Entering the Jade Mazu Hall on the Second Floor of Nantian Temple: The Jade is Crystal Clear, Majestic and Kind, Reflecting the Sea's Eternal Protection and the Clarity of Human Minds
Majestic Jade, Eternal Protection
The Nantian Temple in Nanfang'ao is renowned for its "world's largest golden statue of Mazu," but an exceptionally precious Jade Mazu statue is also enshrined on the second floor. Carved entirely from emerald jade, the statue sits upright on a throne. Its robes, intricately textured and lustrous, radiate a solemn aura under the light.
Mazu, adorned with a phoenix crown and bridal robe, holds a hu tablet in both hands. Her expression is solemn yet gentle, like a mother's. To her left and right stand two maidens, "Sun" and "Moon," each made of crystal-clear white jade, holding precious fans, symbolizing light and protection, highlighting Mazu's supreme dignity.
Approaching the shrine, a deep sense of reverence arises. The jade's tranquility makes this Mazu statue feel not only a symbol of faith, but also a sacred product nurtured by nature.
