Journey into the heart of Japanese spiritual history 🇯🇵

Visiting Myohoji Temple is a journey into the heart of Japanese spiritual history. Nestled in Kamakura, this serene temple traces its origins back to 1269 when the revered Nichiren saint preached in Kodachi. Initially, 28 enlightened followers constructed a humble thatched hut, marking the temple's humble beginnings. In 1274, a small temple was built at Kawakubo, known for its Rokkakudo. The temple found its permanent home in its current location in 1559. Walking through Myohoji, you feel a profound connection to the past, surrounded by ancient architecture and tranquil gardens, each stone and tree echoing centuries of devotion and enlightenment. It’s a sacred space that invites reflection and a deep sense of peace.
