#seoultrip Myeong Dong Cathedral is at the heart of the city, it's position at the side of the hustle and bustle of the Myeong Dong area means it's hard to miss. In the daytime it is a functioning cathedral with wedding services and mass both being offered while we were in the area. The cathedral is grand, with huge stained glass windows and a grand traditional pipe organ that fills the entire back wall. You can only take pictures from the outside, but don't let this deter you from experiencing the South Korean equivalent of St Paul's or York Minster. I'd highly recommend walking by if you are heading through Myeong Dong, day or night.

I had given up on the counter seats in front of the cathedral, thinking that I probably wouldn't be able to sit there, but there was no one sitting at the counter! Maybe they give priority to single diners⁉️ A staff member outside showed me to a counter seat! Lucky🫶🏻 ⁡ This is an espresso bar, but... Myeongdong Cathedral is a serene place and somewhat unexpected place in the heart of Myeongdong. Amongst all the shops of the district you'll find this cathedral which is a sombre and calm place, either for reflection or simply for a rest. The grounds feature nice sculpted gardens and of course the main highlight of the church. The church makes you think for a second you're not in Korea and has a slight French feel to it. Keep in mind that it's still actively in use so be respectful of the believers and staff who might be there. Nevertheless a must visit if you go to Myeongdong. #church
