Kuala Lipis the historical town
📍 Muzium Warisan Kuala Lipis
THE RESIDENCE OF FORMER PAHANG
STATE SECRETARY (1920)
This building was built in 1920 in Bukit Bius which was then the main residential area of Senior State Government Officials and Lipis dignitaries. It was the official residence of the Pahang State Secretary at that time. This building was located near the residence of the Most Honorable Chief Minister of Pahang.
This historical building was home to two former Prime Ministers of Malaysia. They were the late Tun Abdul Razak bin Dato' Hussein, the second Prime Minister (1970-1976) who resided in this house when he was then the Pahang State Secretary (1952-1955) and his eldest son, Dato' Sri Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak, the sixth Prime Minister (2009-2018) who was born in this house in 1953. When the Pahang State Capital was relocated from Kuala Lipis to Kuantan in 1955, this building became the residence of senior government officials. In 2010, this building was renovated and converted into the Lipis Heritage Museum.
