In the vast hills of the Sacred Valley of Peru, the Moray Terraces are like a group of giant green fingerprints embedded in the earth, revealing the amazing agricultural wisdom of the Inca civilization. This archaeological wonder composed of three sunken circular terraces was once the "open-air laboratory" of the Inca Empire in the 15th century. Its exquisite design still amazes agronomists today. The terraces can be up to 30 meters deep, with each circular platform decreasing in height by 0.5 meters, forming 20 microclimate zones. Archaeologists have found that the temperature difference between the top and bottom layers can reach 15°C, confirming the legend that the Incas cultivated crops at different altitudes here. From cold-resistant potatoes to tropical coca leaves, these concentric terraces are like three-dimensional test fields, providing crop domestication data for the expansion of the empire. Tourists spiral down along the rammed earth trail and can clearly see the drainage system and sunshade stone walls built by the Incas. In the early morning, the sun dyes the terraces into a golden green gradient, and the snow-capped mountains and alpacas in the distance form a natural picture frame.
