Hubei hides a stunning "Little Lijiang".
Destination: Mochou Village. No plans, no guides, just aimless wandering and relaxation.
Transportation guide:
Two and a half hours by car. After arriving at the scenic area entrance, park your car in the parking lot. A scenic area shuttle bus will take you to and from your guesthouse within the scenic area.
The village is small, but perfect for strolling and taking photos. It's like a mini Lijiang!
We stayed at the Ming Dynasty Guesthouse. We loved its antique style when choosing a hotel. There's a courtyard for kids to play in. Even if you don't visit the scenic area, it's still very comfortable to sit in the courtyard with friends, drink tea and chat.
Practical tips:
All guesthouses within the scenic area are managed by the scenic area, with excellent service and facilities. Breakfast is served at the Music Restaurant & Bar within the scenic area. Lunch and dinner are also available here, with delicious food and reasonable prices.
Outside the guesthouse, there's a lush green landscape. Adorable green vines cover the entire courtyard wall, with antique-style lamps, making it a perfect spot for taking photos.
Bridges, streams, rivers, stone slabs, alleys... who says this isn't a journey through an ancient town in Jiangnan? Or a street in Lijiang? During the day, it's bustling with tourists. At night, it's peaceful and quiet.

❣️It was raining a bit when we went, which initially dampened our spirits, but in the end, we found that the photos taken had an extra sense of clarity, which was an unexpected gain. The only regret was not seeing the bonfire because of the rain.
Overall, escaping the city and relaxing for a one-day trip is quite nice. It is said that they might start charging for admission in the future, so hurry up and go!

Wuhan 3h, the night here transports me to another world
Arriving in Zhongxiang for tourism, I felt during the day that it was just an ordinary commercialized ancient town.
But at night, I was utterly amazed, as if I had stepped into the streets of a period drama, a beauty that cameras cannot capture.
Every design detail is very intricate and exquisite, and every angle is perfect for taking photos.
(The entrance to the ancient town has two costume rental shops, really, taking photos in period costumes couldn't be more stunning!)
Mochou Village has various performances all day long, and I've put the performance schedule in the last photo. Since I only went there around 7 p.m., I only caught the last bonfire performance. Personally, I found the whole performance quite magical, but there were too many people, all standing, so I left halfway through.
Overall, the night is more stunning than the day, but the day is also a great place to take children. However, the food in the scenic area is just so-so.
Mochou Lake, Zhongxiang City Museum
These two attractions are very close and can be visited together.
Mochou Lake is more suitable for cycling around the lake, with places along the road renting multi-person bicycles at affordable prices and with no time limit.
Zhongxiang City Museum, I personally do not recommend it, as there are not many exhibits and most are replicas. If you want to see the real artifacts, you can go to the Hubei Provincial Museum. However, the entrance is very photogenic, and you can take some nice photos.

Checked in at Mochou Village
The beauty of Mochou Village is a serene and rustic charm. The bluestone paths, ancient door lintels, and traces left by the passing years seem to narrate stories of history. Some say it's Hubei's 'Wuzhen', others say it's Hubei's 'Lijiang'. But I feel that it's just Mochou Village of Zhongxiang, with its grey tiles and white walls, beside Mochou Lake, next to Mingxian Tomb, the Mochou Village with the legend of Lady Mochou~
Just hearing the name Mochou, it's especially easy to feel a sense of solace. Life is so tiring, without so much poetry and distant places, urgently needing a time to space out. It feels like, once you go, maybe you really can be free from worries~

: Recommend Mochou Resort Hotel. It's at the entrance of the village, very convenient.

It's really good for shooting, and it's fun to keep. Rent a Hanfu, make a hairstyle. Stroll and shoot, stroll and shoot...
There are performances at all times of the day. There are bonfire parties on Friday-Sunday nights, and after the torch is lit, it is a large-scale rave scene
Recommend to take the sightseeing boat X, $35 per person, children do not need tickets. It is hand-cranked by the boatman, and it takes about half an hour. Because there are not many tourists, we unintentionally chartered a boat
You can also go to the Zhongxiang Museum by the way, it is very close, no tickets and reservations are needed. The museum is not big, it takes about half an hour to go around.

At night, the torches were lit up on the Mozhen village square. The mages from the Yunnan Yi people personally presided over the ceremony of the god of fire. The four tourists sang and danced around the torch and enjoyed the carnival.
In order to create a lively festival atmosphere, and in order to allow visitors to experience the original scene of the Yi people's festival of fire gods, the scenic spot specially invited the Yi people to worship the fire from the Yunnan masters, personally preside over the ritual ceremony, the same dance The actors are also from Yunnan, which is quite a bit of work.
The night is getting thicker and the village lights are on. The streets and alleys in the scenic area are full of various shops, and all kinds of gourmet snacks are full of dazzling, tourists who are dancing and hungry are gradually pouring into the village and opening the food mode. The brightly lit Mocho Village is also more charming.
