Shanghai - Huangpu District People's Square
People's Square, Huangpu District, Shanghai
When visiting downtown Shanghai, People's Square, located in the heart of the city, is one of the city's most iconic landmarks and a near-must-see attraction.
For locals, this is the first place that comes to mind when talking about downtown Shanghai. People's Square boasts a unique location, surrounded by many renowned cultural and architectural landmarks.
Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is Shanghai's busiest pedestrian street, stretching from People's Square to the Peace Hotel in front of the Bund. It's the gateway to the Bund, making it particularly bustling in the evenings and a great place to experience the splendor of Shanghai.
People's Square is lined with shopping malls and restaurants, offering both international brands and snack-filled food courts. However, shopping isn't the main attraction at this Shanghai destination; instead, the main attraction is admiring the classic European department store buildings lining the pedestrian street, which showcase the transformations of the city during the concession period and allow you to experience the traditional commercial life of Shanghai.
There are also many new attractions and photo-ops! I always visit these shops every time I go.
❤️ POPMART Flagship Store 🎁🛍️
There's a giant SKULLPANDA relief at the entrance. It's split into two floors, making it a great place to browse and check in. 📸 Keep an eye out for exclusive and limited-edition items you can only find at Pop Mart.

🩵HBAF Nut Paradise🥜🫘
The first floor is perfect for taking photos and checking in, with its bright and adorable decor. On the second floor, you can buy nuts with a wide variety of flavors, including large sharing bags perfect for gifts. Samples are available, and the staff will recommend them based on your taste. We ordered chocolate nut and butter honey popcorn, which were both delicious and even the kids loved them! The second floor offers direct access to the M&M flagship store!

🧡M&M’s World 🍫
The vibrant M&M’s sign is eye-catching from a distance, and with its partially floor-to-ceiling glass exterior, it's truly eye-catching. This is the only M&M’s flagship store in Asia.

💜New York Bagel Museum 🥯🥐🥨
I really enjoy the bagels here. Even reheated the next day, they're still fragrant and chewy. I tried a new flavor this time, and it wasn't disappointing. There are also many bagel decorations on the tree at the entrance, which are easily visible.

💚Sanrio 🪆🧸
The theme pavilion is themed "Shanghai Bund." It blends Shanghai culture from three different eras, the 1930s, 1980s, and modern times, with elements of cartoon characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cool Penguin, Big Eared Dog, Big Eyed Frog, and Pudding Dog, transforming them into characters from a "Shanghai Bund Time Travel."

💙 Miniso Global No. 1 Store🧸
Also spread over three floors, the vibrant world is truly captivating. While there are many brand names within the store, at first glance, it's primarily focused on plush toys and blind boxes. There's also a pet supplies section, so wander around and satisfy your inner child.
