The accommodation is comfortable, about a 600-meter walk from the MRT, perfect for a leisurely stroll. But the real highlight is the "food around" here! 🍔 Starting right under the hotel, there’s McDonald's for lazy days and a hot pot restaurant that looks very tempting. A little further out, there’s Lawson, super convenient, and next to Lawson is a fruit shop we absolutely love because we found fresh, juicy strawberries that we had to buy to take home. 🍜 Walk out of the hotel and turn left, you’ll find a zone full of local restaurants. We randomly went into a small breakfast place without expecting much but ended up discovering amazing deliciousness! It’s Chinese-style breakfast with mini hot pots where you can choose your own ingredients, and xiaolongbao that bursts with fragrant, flavorful soup the moment you bite into it. 🥖 But the must-mention highlight is the giant youtiao (fried dough sticks), perfectly crispy and so long you have to hold it with both hands to eat. We finished it off with soy milk that has a rich, smooth taste—not too sweet, very different from the Thai style. It feels clean and deliciously healthy. ✨ Overall, the area around this accommodation is truly a paradise for food lovers. No need to take a car or open maps much, just walking around the hotel is enough to enjoy a full day of delicious food.

Mike Apartment (MK Hotel) — If you're looking for a hotel in Shanghai that's affordable but excellent in every way, we say "Mike Apartment" or MK Hotel is a place you shouldn't miss! 📍 Great Location 550 meters from the subway station (if you're chill and don't like walking, just call Didi) The area around the hotel is packed with food options day and night 🍜 There’s McDonald's, a popular local hot pot restaurant, Lawson, and fresh fruit shops We found huge strawberries that we had to pick up and post on IG immediately 🍓✨ 🏨 Atmosphere + Service In front of the hotel, there’s a sign that says MK Hotel (on the booking platform, it’s called Mike Apartment) Inside, there’s a small coffee shop with a chill sitting area Staff speak a little English, but no worries—if they speak Chinese, just use a translation app and it’s smooth sailing (all staff have great service mindsets) You can leave your luggage before check-in and after check-out—very convenient! 🛏️ Various room types to suit your stay style They don’t just have ordinary rooms here! 👉 2-bedroom rooms, perfect for groups or families 👉 Rooms with 2 large beds, great for sharing comfortably 👉 Deluxe queen-size bed rooms that are super spacious For this trip, we chose the “Cozy Queen-size bed” room with a soft, warm bed that’s super comfy, all for just a little over a thousand baht! (Seriously such great value) 🔄 Fully functional Rooms are clean, spacious, and well-organized There’s a washer + dryer inside the room! (Love this) You can ask for laundry detergent at the reception That day, a friend had trouble with the washer, and the housekeeper quickly came to help—so sweet 💸 Honest summary ✔️ Various room types to choose from ✔️ Good location, might walk a bit if using the subway, but you can just call Didi to pick you up ✔️ Friendly and kind staff ✔️ Prices are super reasonable Coming back from Shanghai feeling... The first impression was that the room was very clean. Everything looked new and well-maintained, like a brand-new room. Although some rooms had a cigarette smell in the corridor, there was no smell in the room. The location is near restaurants and minimarts, which is much more convenient than we thought. Although it is not exactly connected to the subway, we always called Didi, which was super convenient. Or you can walk to the MRT, which is not far. The room has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a small bathtub. Automatic toilet + heated seat, I must say it was great when the weather was cold. The living room area has a kitchen counter, microwave, big screen TV, washing machine, suitable for those who like to relax comfortably. But what impressed us the most was the service of the staff. One day, the washing machine had a problem, and the staff rushed to help immediately. Another time, we were not feeling well and wanted to order food delivery, so the staff helped order it to our room. The service is really beyond expectations. If you have a plan to visit Shanghai with a group of friends or family, Mike Apartment is one of the best choices. ⸻
