We left at 7:30 AM that day so we could catch the tiger feeding bus as soon as the zoo opened at 8:00 AM. If you go too late, the tigers will be full and won't pay attention! Definitely! You absolutely must take the thrill ride! It's the only way to get up close and personal with the tigers (meat is extra). Our driver drove slowly towards the tigers, giving visitors ample time to feed and take photos. The ride took about 25 minutes. I think it was a really great experience, as I've never experienced this kind of interaction with tigers at other zoos. After the ride, you can still see the tigers, bears, lions, ligers, white tigers, and more in the enclosures. Outside the park, the surrounding plaza features a circus, a mini-zoo, horseback riding, and some cute tiger statues where you can play games with idioms. Before my trip, I consulted numerous bloggers, books, groups, and trip.com for recommendations on numerous attractions. The table below summarizes the number of days I actually visited and the recommended number of days. I don't offer route recommendations because this depends on individual travel time and accommodation options. I entered Dalian and exited Changchun, avoiding backtracking. I also included a three-day road trip to Changbai Mountain and an eight-day road trip to Hulunbuir. Therefore, the table below only provides recommended days (I actually spent more time than listed) and attractions (some of which have travelogues). Also, if you have a lottery ticket, it's not mandatory to visit these places; they aren't essential recommendations. ① Dalian 2 Days: Xinghai Square, Cross-Sea Bridge, Black Stone Reef Park, Dongguan Street, (Russian Style Street), (Venice Water City), (Sea Rhythm Park). ② Dandong 1 Day: Hushan Great Wall, One Step Crossing, Yalu River Broken Bridge, (Andong Old Street). ③ 2-day Shenyang: Forbidden City, Zhongjie Street, (Zhang's Mansion), Zhaoling Mausoleum of the Qing Dynasty + Beiling Park, (Dongling Mausoleum), Xiaoheyan Morning Market, (Xiaonan Church), Northeast Bathing. ④ 3-day Changbai Mountain Scenic Area: The southern slope is the most beautiful, followed by the western and northern slopes. I reserved five days for this trip in Harbin, but five was actually too long. I felt two or three would have been more than enough. The city's attractions are all within easy reach, so it's just a matter of where you start! Harbin's peak tourist season is winter. Even the locals say it's even more beautiful and offers more sights than summer. But for us, we're from the south, and just thinking about -30°C temperatures is enough to make us feel cold! The advantage of visiting Harbin in the summer is that it's cool with daytime temperatures in the 20s, but not too hot, which is perfect weather for exploring the sights! This trip focused on the following locations: ① Harbin Station: The station is beautiful, with its dark green steel structure and the occasional green trains. In junior high geography textbook, we learned that the Songhua River originates from Changbai Mountain and is one of the major rivers in Northeast China. So, of course, a visit to Harbin requires a photo stop by the Songhua River! We walked along Central Avenue to the end, crossed the underground street, and emerged from the underpass to the Flood Control Memorial Tower, perched on the south bank of Songhua Mountain. Along the riverbank is the long, tree-lined Stalin Park, with pedestrian and bicycle paths. Continuing east, we reached the Songhua River Railway Bridge, and further on, we reached the Songpu Bridge. Address: No. 326, Nanzhi Road, Daowai District, Harbin Admission: Free I had zero interest in "pharmaceutical factories" before coming here! But after doing some research, I discovered that this place is actually one of Harbin's iconic landmarks. It's a building with a European palace-style design. While inspired by the Louvre, it also incorporates other architectural styles. The golden and resplendent corridor on the 5th floor, in my opinion, is like a miniature version of the "Hall of Mirrors"! When you arrive at the plaza, taking photos of the surrounding buildings gives you the illusion of being in some European country. Inside the factory, there are introductions for each floor, but to manage visitor flow, it is recommended to start on the 5th floor and then work your way down. Currently, the museum features a print art exhibition, a historical overview of Harbin Pharmaceutical Factory No. 6, and, of course, there are some health products and cultural and creative items for sale.

#Harbin-Mohe-North Pole-Beihong-Heihe 20250728-20250808 Heilongjiang Province (Harbin, Mohe - North Pole Village - Longjiang First Bay - Beihong Village - Heihe) For me, the happiest times in life are when I can eat, drink, and have fun! Thank you, sister, for your support and care. In one trip, I took seven flights to the northernmost point and continued to eat. Hehehe! Visiting China's northernmost point would be most beautiful in winter, but I was worried the cold would overwhelm my body! I decided to go in summer! Surprisingly, I discovered that Heilongjiang in the summer is one of China's summer resorts! Highly recommended! If you have the chance, you should visit! Such simple people and places! I loved everything I saw (the people, the things, the places, the climate, the food). Due to my health, I can't travel by car, so I flew instead of driving around the city, so I took seven flights in one trip! I'm traveling independently. I can speak the language and understand text. I brought extra RMB for emergencies, and I also set up WeChat and WiFi. Once I've made time, I've bought my flight and first night's accommodation, and I'm ready to go. Everything else is up to you. Admission: Free Our visit to this church was completely unexpected. My travel companions had originally planned to go to Gogol Street to find a cafe, but when we got a taxi, the driver told us that Gogol Street had nothing special to offer, so we should visit this church! He dropped us off here. I immediately did some research and learned that the Alexeevsky Cathedral dates back to the Russo-Japanese War. Its shape and style are a replica of St. Sophia Cathedral, with its Arabic bell-shaped dome and geometric design. This clever fusion creates an artistic atmosphere! No reservations are required and admission is free. Upon entering, a volunteer will help register your number and location. Transportation: Bus, taxi, subway Admission: ¥20 (Currently closed due to interior renovations) The most striking architectural feature of Hagia Sophia is its large dome, inspired by typical Eastern Orthodox architecture. The walls are constructed entirely of red brick, a characteristic of late 19th-century Russian architecture. The exterior also features many traditional Russian wood carvings. The massive, dark green, onion-shaped dome towers majestically over the square, offering a 360-degree panoramic view, every aspect perfect for admiring and photographing. No wonder the area is bustling with photo studios and photographers. Young and old, men and women, especially little girls, pose for artistic photos in medieval gowns and elaborate makeup. Even I, a non-photographer, was constantly being urged, "Excuse me! You're blocking our view!" Summer is the off-season here, so wouldn't the crowds be even greater during peak winter season? I've heard the interior of the cathedral is also quite impressive, but unfortunately, it was under renovation and I wasn't able to see it inside! #Hagia Sophia

❄️🇨🇳 Harbin – A city of snowy, freezing cold, yet filled with the warmth of its people. ❄️✨ Our first trip to Harbin, a city in northeastern China known as the "City of Ice and Snow" and one of the coldest cities in China. 🌬️ We traveled from Bangkok to Harbin with Junyao Airlines. We were beyond impressed. The seats were spacious and comfortable, the service was friendly, and the food on board was delicious. Most importantly…the price was incredibly good value. (I promise a detailed review in the next episode. 💺🍱) After landing 🚖, we called Didi to drop off our luggage at the hotel before beginning our trip with our first landmark, Saint Sophia Cathedral, an ancient Russian-style church that is absolutely stunning. 🕍✨ Even though we arrived late in the evening, the atmosphere was lively because it coincided with the New Year's festival. 🎉 The cathedral was decorated with beautiful, sparkling lights, creating a magnificent atmosphere like a fairytale. Some groups rented fantasy costumes, had their hair and makeup done, and even had a photographer on hand to take photos and help with poses. 📸 In the center of the square, there was an EDM stage where we could get our feet wet and get warm. The atmosphere was amazing, both fun and exciting. 🎶💃🕺 The temperature that day dropped to -9 degrees Celsius. 🥶 But the warmth from the lights, the people, and the music made our first Harbin trip…full of unforgettable moments. 💖 📌 Harbin is more than just a cold city. There are several ways to get to Sun Island: subway, ferry, or cable car. We chose to take the ferry, which offers three ticket options: ① ¥2: Disembark at Pier 7 and walk to the main attractions. ② ¥10: Disembark at Pier 3, directly at the main attractions. ③ ¥35: Enjoy a scenic cruise along the Songhua River before disembarking at Pier 3. When buying tickets, the saleswoman strongly urged us to purchase the ¥35 option. After some discussion, we decided on the ¥2 ticket, which seemed to upset her. At that moment, we were tempted to call the tourism bureau to file a complaint. Once on the island, we realized how vast it is! There are paid transportation options available, such as mini trains, electric carts, and tandem bicycles. Since the weather was overcast that day, we opted to stroll around and enjoy the sights as we went. The main attractions on Sun Island include: Water Pavilion in the Clouds, Deer Park, Squirrel Island, Sun Waterfall, Swan Lake, Clumsy Bear Amusement Park, camping areas, wetlands, and the Historical and Cultural Street, among others. Many of these attractions require additional fees for entry. After walking around, we had one main takeaway: this is a fantastic place for families with kids. With playgrounds, green spaces, and recreational facilities, it’s a great spot to relax in the city. However, as a tourist, it’s not necessarily a must-visit destination.

Known as a "hidden historical treasure within a modern city," Harbin's Chinese Baroque Street is said to house the largest and best-preserved ensemble of Baroque architecture in China. However, when I visited (August 2025), most of the buildings were under renovation, which was a shame! However, within the open streets, you can still see a few scattered houses, each showcasing its own unique character with rich ornamentation and intricate carvings. Unlike Central Street, this street is less touristy. Some shops (Nantoudao Street) sell vintage items and handmade crafts, and there's even an antique market, perfect for treasure hunting. #ChineseBaroqueStreet

Central Street is arguably Harbin's busiest and most vibrant street! Over a kilometer long, the entire street is pedestrian-only, with traffic police stationed at every block to maintain order. The street is lined with dazzling European and Russian-style buildings, and is overflowing with restaurants and cultural and creative products, offering everything from Qiulin Liados ham and kvass to Madiel popsicles. Besides admiring the architectural beauty, you can also enjoy delicious food and indulge in shopping! I think the city government has a strong sense of business planning, as the signs on both sides of the street are clearly categorized and easy to understand, offering maps of tourist and cultural attractions, shopping maps, and directions to restrooms! This is a friendly city! I stumbled upon the "Shoker Courtyard" in the alley, and it felt like stepping into "Diagon Alley" from the Harry Potter films. The courtyard isn't large, but it's packed with photo opportunities! It's both retro and modern, with colorful buildings and landscaping, and information about the origins of breadstone. No wonder it's always crowded! #HarbinCentralDay

Harbin is highly recommended for a summer getaway to escape the heat 😊 Even with just one day, you can enjoy Harbin by making good use of the subway and buses. ☑️ Itinerary After arriving at Harbin Station, head to Central Street to enjoy the cityscape. Take a break with a Madie ice cream, then walk to St. Sophia Cathedral. Explore the retro architecture around St. Alexei Church⛪️ and Museum Station. Return to Harbin Station and take a bus to Harbin Grand Theatre (note: there are no restaurants nearby, so make sure to eat beforehand). Return to Harbin Station and take a bus to the Harbin Pharmaceutical Sixth Printmaking Museum. If you have the energy and time, consider strolling through the illuminated Central Street once more.

20250819 Night Market Shida Night Market is a well-known nighttime destination in Harbin. Go without any expectations and you'll have a truly rewarding experience. The dried plum pork patties, crispy beef patties, and Zhaodong pancakes are all made by the chef on-site, eliminating the typical disappointment of a tourist night market and leaving you completely satisfied. Besides food, there are also clothes, jewelry, and souvenirs to buy, along with game stalls for relaxation. There's a designated taxi pick-up area near the bustling Shida Night Market, so taking a taxi is recommended for convenience.
