Kyoto, Komyoji Temple: Red Leaf Tunnel and Garden Aesthetics.
Nagaokakyo Komyoji Temple is an ancient temple located in Nagaokakyo. It not only has a long history, but is also famous for its maple leaf season.
When you arrive at Guangming Temple, the first thing that catches your eye is the red leaf tunnel in front of the Yakuimon Gate. It was almost noon when I arrived and there were already a lot of people there. I really don't have the energy to find a time when no one is around to take pictures of the deserted red leaf tunnel, but even so, I am still moved by the beauty of the interweaving of golden and fiery red.
The interior of the temple is also very stunning, with the main hall, dry landscape garden, wooden corridors and red leaves. One cannot help but sigh that the Japanese are truly first-rate in setting the garden. This place is also very photogenic, and it is an excellent location for both portraits and scenery.
🌟Warm suggestions:
If you want to take pictures of the red leaf tunnel with few people, try to go early. There will be fewer people when the temple gate just opens, or you can be patient and capture pictures between the crowds. The best viewing time is usually from late November to early December. However, with this warm winter, it may be later than in previous years.
🚗Transportation:
It is very convenient to drive by yourself, and there is a spacious parking lot near Guangming Temple. If you don't have a car, it is recommended to choose attractions with convenient transportation in Kyoto city, such as Kiyomizu Temple, Eikan-do Temple, etc.; Komyoji Temple is relatively suitable for friends who have time for a slow tour.
📌If you have time, you can arrange to visit the nearby Zenmine Temple and Yanggu Temple together. These three temples constitute the "Three Mountains of Western Hills" in Kyoto, and each has its own unique scenery.
