Avoid the crowds and go to a lesser-known destination.
To find tranquility, I prefer the hidden gems, such as Alxa League in Inner Mongolia, which is only a 1.5-hour drive from Yinchuan Airport, and is my destination for this trip.
👩💼Why did I choose Wuhai?
🤔The answer comes from a movie🎥.
The scene is vast, distant, lonely, and ethereal, with golden sand, blue lakes, and lonely trees, which instantly touched the softest part of my heart.
So, for my trip to the northwest, I chose Wuhai as my first stop.
🚗[Travel Plan]
D1: Depart from Hangzhou, transfer in Yinchuan, arrive in Wuhai, and visit Huaiyuan Night Market at night.
D2: Depart from Wuhai, visit Lamasery, and then go to Zhongwei.
🤔What to do?
🔹A must-visit is the "Wuhai Lake" scenic area, where mountains and water are intertwined, and the city and water are integrated, making Wuhai worthy of the reputation of the Pearl of the Yellow River.
📍Location: "Wuhai Lake No. 1 Pier Scenic Area", ticket price is CNY 98, including round-trip ferry tickets.
📝Tips: Want to take a photo of the internet-famous tree? You must take a boat to get there. The last boat is at 16:30. After getting off the boat, you can walk for half an hour or take an off-road vehicle to the shooting point. Remember to pay attention to the return time!
🔹Visit Manba Lamasery, a Tibetan Buddhist temple built during the Qianlong period, which locals affectionately call "Little Lhasa".
📍Navigation: "Lamasery", there is a parking lot at the entrance, and admission is free.
📝Tips: The temple is located halfway up the mountain and requires a walk up the mountain, which is very photogenic! Note that the temple is closed at noon and opens after 14:30. If you want to rent clothes for photos, you need to rent them in advance in Wuhai City, as there are no rental services around the temple.
🍽️What to eat?
🔸Recommended: "Old Ama Mongolian Restaurant", "Sanping Stew Restaurant", "Longheng Braised Noodles", "Maji Lamb Restaurant", and "Huaiyuan Night Market" beef patties, Nurmai spicy strips, rolled cold noodles, Wuji milk rice wine, although I still can't accept the spicy paste.
👗What to wear?
🔸High SPF is key! Compared to sunscreen and sun-protective clothing, I prefer lightweight sun-protective gear. The sun-protective clothing I bought with my best friend is cool and breathable, and comfortable even when walking in the desert.
🔸The wind is strong in the desert, so it is best to choose hats and sunglasses with straps, and boots or slippers are the best choice for shoes.
This trip not only allowed me to appreciate the magnificent scenery of Wuhai but also made me deeply appreciate the charm of niche tourism. On the journey, we should not only enjoy the scenery but also learn to respect and protect the land, making every trip a beautiful memory.
