Kaeng Ko is located in Mae Ping National Park, Tambon Ko, Amphoe Li, Lamphun Province.
It is a large body of water surrounded by mountains with beautiful scenery.
During high water levels, you can take a boat from Kaeng Ko to see the floating school or follow the movie "Think of Wittaya". Unfortunately, when we went, the water level was low and it was not the tourist season, so the atmosphere was a bit quiet. However, it still maintained its natural beauty.
🛻🚙Travel: The asphalt road is convenient and comfortable. Drive there and walk a little bit more to reach the viewpoint. If you want to stay, there are accommodations in the park.

Watch the sunrise at Pha Daeng Luang, Lamphun Province
Pha Daeng Luang Viewpoint is located in Mae Ping National Park, Lamphun Province. It is a viewpoint at an altitude of 1,000 meters, where you can see the Ping River in the Bhumibol Dam Reservoir in the distance. It is another viewpoint in the North where you can clearly see the beautiful sunrise.
The highlight here is the red-orange cliff that stands tall alongside the Mae Ping River, which curves along the high valley. It is so beautiful that it has been nicknamed the “Switzerland of Thailand.”
Pha Daeng Luang Viewpoint is open only once a year during the winter, between December and January. The number of visitors is limited to no more than 50 people per day, and reservations must be made in advance. To get to the top, you must take a four-wheel drive vehicle provided by the officer. It is not recommended to drive your own car because the route is quite steep and is a gravel road that cuts through the forest. It is quite difficult and requires familiarity with the route. The car will park at the tent site. Then you have to walk into the forest for another 1-2 kilometers, which takes about 45 minutes, to reach the Pha Daeng Luang Viewpoint.
Although the journey is a bit difficult, if you make it to the top, I can say in one word that...it's definitely worth the effort.
Location: Pha Daeng Luang, Mae Ping National Park, Tambon Ko, Amphoe Li, Lamphun Province
Open for visits: 08.00-16.30 (Open for visits during December-January)

It is a limestone waterfall formed by Huai Mae Ko flowing through a limestone cliff about 20 meters high. It flows down in 7 levels and falls into a large green pool below. Nature lovers must come! Travel comfortably, it's ordinary. Try camping, boating at Kaeng Ko, and you will be fascinated by the extraordinary nature!
.
A large lake surrounded by mountains. At night, it is quiet, without the light of the city. There are only small bulbs that provide warmth and romance. When the sun shines, there is thick fog covering the entire lake, similar to thick clouds with mountains surrounding the white fluffy land like a heavenly city on earth.
.
Not only that, try taking your body that carries a heavy burden, let yourself and your heart float on a long-tailed boat on the Ping River, letting the water and the large forest embrace you, letting you float along with the rippling water around you.
.
In the middle of the Ping River, there is a school in the middle of the water called "Baan Ko School, Raen Pae Branch", which was the inspiration for the movie "Thinking of Wittaya". Currently, there are 5 students studying there. Tourists can bring snacks and food to give to the children at the school or donate to the school for scholarships and to help the children at the Krung Thai Bank account, named School Development Fund (Raen Pae), account number 9870340385.
.
Take a short break and go up to see “Tham Chang Rong” Visit the old pavilion. It is said that in the past, King Taksin the Great once stayed at this remote cave that is difficult to visit.
Continue the boat trip to Tak Province. Visit Wat Phra Borommathat Kaeng Soi, an ancient temple that shows the existence of Muang Soi deep under the boat covered with water. If you are lucky and the water level is high and the air is good, you may not have to walk up the steep stairs to the temple. You will also see the reflection of the temple in a long line alongside the scenery. There are fish swimming and creating art that flows in the water.
