The MacRitchie Nature Trail is a rainforest trail with a total length of about 10 kilometers, which surrounds the MacRitchie Reservoir with lush vegetation along the way. On the MacRitchie Nature Trail, people can jog for fitness, or take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the fresh air in the forest. In this area, the MacRitchie Reservoir, the HSBC Treetop Suspension Bridge, and the cemetery of Singapore's fighting hero Lim Mousheng are all good places to visit. But be aware that monkeys are sometimes encountered on the trail, be careful to protect your belongings, and don't startle them, lest they hurt people.

4-5 kilometers on foot with my 80-year-old father along what is known as the “boys’ path”. Facing the canteen area and the toilet from the parking lot, turn left and you’ll see the band’s parking lot that looks like a maze on the lake.
The bridge zigzags through the water and this is the most famous with older Singaporeans who ran “across the country” when they were connecting young men and women. On the other side of here, the top of the hill is the tomb of the local war hero Lim Bo Singh.
He died too young under betrayal and ambush. His descendants are still between us and one is a high-ranking military man who plays water polo. In addition to the easy-to-find path along the water edge, the walk begins. Note that if you’re walking in the morning, it’s best to walk along a very stable walking platform on the edge of the water because the sun will be on your back and you may enjoy dragon flies, fish, observe lizers and with luck, you may even discover the rays of a dodgy freshwater bite. Simple seats about 200-300 meters on this platform to admire the tank and pick up a break from walking, admiring the place, or simply having a quiet conversation. At the end of this walk, you can either return to the jungle path or return in the same way along the platform.
The jungle path will provide more cold walking and more diluted sound but is not recommended if it has rained the day before nor during the monsoon season. Walking wasn’t a problem for my old dad and we had a great time chatting in this
“Controlled natural walking.” Nothing is too extreme.

Hiking at Lornie Trail & Chemperai Trail
I love nature for it's tranquility and the fresh air that surrounds it, thus I would find my temporary escape from city like and go on a hike. Today's hiking trail leads me to both the lornie trail and the chemperai trail at Macritchie Reservoir.
From Macritchie Reservoir, you would be able to access the Lornie trail. The start of lornie trail is covered with small rocks and gravels but it is a relatively easy walk. After a short while, it would then lead you to the Chemperai trail and you would be able to see it. Now, the chemperai trail is a much more relaxed and beautiful trail. There are proper wooden broadwalks set on top of the Reservoir waters. As you walk, you can admire the amazing views of the Reservoir waters and the sound of water crashing in. The gentle breeze blowing against you and as the trees sway to it, it is such a relaxing walk. There are also information boards that gives you details on the wildlife within the forest and information on the different floral and fauna. The trail eventually leads to a small path near Singapore Island country club and you could either do a detour or head to the treetops walk etc. This is such an enjoyable trail and I m pretty sure you will enjoy it too.

Hiking at Macritchie Nature Trail
The air in the morning is the freshest and the coolest and that's my favourite time to hike. The trail that I took for my morning hike is the Macritchie Nature trail, where there's lots to see and explore. It is not just the floral and fauna that's fascinating along this trail, but also the wildlife that you can spot along the way. I was able to spot monkeys, squirrels and even a Malayan flying lemur hugging a tree. You just have to pay attention to the nature around you, and slowly appreciate it's beauty and peacefulness in the forest.
The Macritchie Nature trail has a mixture of proper pathways and also rocky paths so be sure to wear good fitted shoes. Sheltered huts for resting your tired feet and to seek shelter can be found along the hike. However, there are no toilets nearby until you reach the end of the trail, or unless you hike to the toilet nearest to the ranger station. The end of the Macritchie Nature trail will lead you to the beautiful Macritchie Reservoir Park. If the weather is great, perhaps you would like to try this wonderful hiking trail.

A hike through MacRitchie Nature Trail
We started our trip at Caldecott MRT station and walked 10 minutes to get to MacRitchie Reservoir Park. From there it was a 4-hour hike through MacRitchie Nature Trail. The trail took us to the Treetop walk and return via Jering Boardwalk and Chemperai Boardwalk which is about 11 km round trip. Half of the trail is unpaved with lots of stones so it would be better to wear a pair of hiking shoes. Bring enough drinking water too as some parts the hike are quite strenuous on steep slopes. Overall it was a tiring but worthwhile trip!

This is a place to see beautiful flora and fauna whereby it is a nature reserve where people go and hike the mountains and see the beautiful scenery. Hiking is a good form of exercise whereby we get to breath in the nature air and also get to experience what is it like to be surrounded by trees. I personally like the Hilltop tree walks which is one of the main attractions there whereby we get to cross over the hanging bridge and see the view of the nature reserve.

Discover Nature @ Macritchie
Address - Old Upper Thompson Road
Ambiance/Facilities - greens and still water, reservoir, tracks, hiking
Highlights - discover the beauty of lower and upper pierce reservoir which is part of macritchie. Hikers usually come here to chill and hike from beginner to difficult level, depending on the direction they are heading to and from. Usually after rains it will be slippery so better be careful. Lower pierce is a small distance walk, stretch below 1km; but it's connected with upper pierce which is wider and further than lower pierce. Great place to enjoy nature with mixture of greens and water.

Great Beginner Trail! :)
MacRitchie Reservoir, one of the most iconic places for all generations alike, from before our grandparents down to our kids. This place has seen almost every Singaporean, from weekend family hikes, school cross country races to gatherings between friends.
There were lots to see, lots to discover. Every visit here brings about new finds and adventures. In this slow hike with friends, we covered about 12 kilometres in a few hours. We took it real slow as we were all beginners to this activity.
It was a very fun and fulfilling time spent with friends, everyone should give this a try at least once. Can’t wait to be back exploring, snapping more pictures along the way! :)

🌳Encounter the Wizard of Oz in Singapore | MacRitchie Reservoir
Families, you must visit MacRitchie Reservoir when in Singapore! It is like a green wonderland hidden in the city, which can instantly pull people away from the hustle and bustle of the city into the tranquility of nature.
📍It is located in the central part of Singapore, with convenient transportation and can be easily reached by bus or car. As soon as you walk in here, the fresh scent of grass and trees hits your nose. The tall trees block out the sun, and the sunlight shines through the gaps between the leaves, creating mottled light and shadows.
There is a great hiking route here, winding along the reservoir, the entire journey is about 11 kilometers, the difficulty is moderate, and even novices can easily handle it. While hiking, you can see the sparkling water surface, and if you are lucky, you may encounter small animals such as otters and lizards.
Be sure to check in at the treetop trail next to the reservoir! Walking on the suspended trail, you feel like you are on the treetops, with a 360-degree view of the lush rainforest. The view is amazing, and the photos are great. Any photo you take is a great atmosphere📸
MacRitchie Reservoir is a treasure trove in Singapore. Whether you want to relax or get close to nature, don't miss it!

Great Spot for Hiking
#singaporetrip A nice, easy walk with many trail options and some boardwalks. There are good views on offer at the Jelutong Tower and the treetop walk. We were so lucky to see two critically endangered lesser mouse deer! Also saw monkeys, monitor lizards, squirrels, turtles and horseshoe crabs, and heard many birds and frogs. Allow 3-4 hours to explore.

A Weekend Hike in Macritchie Trial
Singapore has a few hiking trials situated in the centre of the island. One of the popular hiking trail is the macritchie trial with a few walking route to use, for short quick ones you can head to the 3km trial or there is a longer trial of 7km or 11km which covers most of the parks attraction. There are also several unique attractions in macritchie like the tree top walk, climbing up the jelutong tower, walk along the chemperai trial which has a nice brodwalk by the water, exploring if the zig zag bridge in the main area of macritchie or even soaking uo your feet after a long hike at the submerged bridge.
There are no MRT here but only via buses or car, for people who drive do come early as the parking lots on weekends gets filled up pretty fast eventhough they have a huge parking space. Do also bring along ur water as there are no water refill inside the trials.
