Located in the bustling city, Shuangta Temple possesses a unique charm that invites tranquility. The environment within is serene. Though the courtyard is small, it carries a profound sense of history. Besides the pagodas, some stone sculptures damaged during the Cultural Revolution are also worth seeing (Photos 14–17). Thus, the temple also houses the Suzhou Stone Sculpture Art Museum (below Photo 1). The four tall magnolia trees surrounding the pagodas (visible from outside the temple, Photos 1 and 2) are a highlight. When the magnolias bloom, the blossoms against the blue sky, yellow towers, black tiles, and white walls create an elegant and tranquil scene reminiscent of a traditional Chinese painting (Photos 1–9). Uniquely, these magnolias grow within the ruins of the Twin Pagodas and the main hall of Luohanyuan Temple. The tall trees with straight branches rise from the Song Dynasty-style courtyard, extending beyond the white walls and dark-colored roofs, and spreading their influence to the surrounding area. With a gentle spring breeze, they produce lampshade-like white flowers that appear even brighter and more elegant in the golden sunlight. Cluster after cluster, they resemble a natural canopy.

I've been to Suzhou many times, and it's really hard to find a unique and interesting route to walk again. A weekend day trip, the route is Dinghui Temple - Twin Pagodas - Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda - Huan Dai Temple - Baoshan Temple - Mingyue Zen Temple - Mingyue Bay Village. Can't say it's particularly good, but it's still recommended. Suzhou Station take the subway to Lindun Road Station, Dinghui Temple is in the alley next door. Before touring, you can have a Chinese Bruch at the neighboring Wanfuxing, which is said to have been founded in 1911. The alley is named after the temple, called Dinghui Temple Alley. The temple is said to have been founded during the Tang Dynasty, and the existing buildings were rebuilt during the Qing Dynasty. In front of the temple, there are two huge ginkgo trees. When the autumn wind blows and the leaves turn yellow, it must be extremely beautiful. Of course, now they stand in front of the door like two braids, making the temple lively and playful. To the east of Dinghui Temple are the Twin Pagodas. The Twin Pagodas are yellow all over, and to be honest, they don't look high-end, but fortunately, they are surrounded by trees, and the ruins of the damaged grand hall next to them immediately present a sense of historical vicissitudes. Continue east along Dinghui Temple Alley, pass through the popular Twin Pagodas Market, and walk for ten minutes to find the Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda. The brick pagoda is very low in height, but it is tightly structured, exquisite and delicate, with a modern aesthetic. Next to the Jiachen Lane Brick Pagoda is the Xiangmen Subway Station, so you can also walk in reverse, first to Xiangmen and then towards Lindun Road Subway Station.

Dinghui Temple is located in Dinghui Temple Lane, with the ruins of the Arhat Court Twin Towers. Admission to Dinghui Temple is free, while the Twin Towers charge an 8 yuan ticket fee. Today's focus is on the magnolia flowers, so I didn't take a close look at the historical sites and hurriedly left after finding a spot to take photos. If it weren't for the flowering season, I guess there wouldn't be many people around, and I'll take the opportunity to visit more leisurely next time. The spot to view the Twin Towers from a distance is on the third floor at the corner of Fenghuang Street and the alley. If you want to see the reflection, you can go to the courtyard on the first floor of the neighboring exhibition hall, but with people and fish moving, the water surface keeps shaking, and I didn't see the beautiful reflection.

If you are walking in the ancient city of Suzhou citywalk, then please make sure not to miss the recent Shuangta Yulan flower season. Besides paying 8 yuan for a ticket to enter the Shuangta scenic area to enjoy the view, the following two positions can also be used for reference – 1️⃣ Wu Zuoren Art Museum Free reservation for a visit, and the backyard pond just reflects the twin towers and magnolias in it. 2️⃣ Wuyu Coffee A good place to take a break and have a coffee after walking around, where the view from the third-floor window blends the ancient with the modern. There is another temple to the east of Dinghui Temple. The main hall of the current temple from the Northern Song Dynasty has been destroyed, and only a dozen pillars from the Song Dynasty remain standing on the original site of the main hall. However, the two towers, which the people of Suzhou call the Sister-in-law Towers, still stand in the city of Suzhou. There were almost no tourists in the courtyard of the Twin Pagodas, and the ticket price was only eight yuan. During the Five Dynasties and the Song Dynasty, the style of building towers with two towers facing each other was popular in Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The twin towers in Suzhou, as Buddhist pagodas built in the early Northern Song Dynasty, embody the construction style of this period. One of the twin towers is called the Relic Tower and the other is the Merit Relic Tower. However, the shapes and heights of the two towers, which are more than ten meters apart, are exactly the same. The other two 10-meter-high iron finials on the top of the tower weigh five tons each.
