Longdong Seaside - The Blue Secret of Taipei's Northeast Coast
Early in the morning, I packed a simple backpack and set off from downtown Taipei, taking a bus to the northeast coast to explore the legendary Longdong Seaside.
First Arrival at Longdong - Welcomed by Blue Sea and Sky
Upon getting off the bus, I was greeted by the refreshing sea breeze and a vast expanse of blue ocean. The Longdong Bay is surrounded by mountains, with crystal-clear waters and uniquely shaped rocks sculpted by the waves over time. Unlike other popular beaches crowded with people, this place exudes a sense of tranquility and mystery.
Rock Climbing Paradise - Challenging the Beauty of Cliffs
Longdong is known as Taiwan's "rock climbing sanctuary." The cliffs along the shore vary in height, attracting many rock climbing enthusiasts. Standing on the observation deck, I watched climbers skillfully maneuvering on the cliffs, filled with admiration. Although I have no rock climbing experience, just standing at the edge of the cliff and overlooking the sea was enough to make my heart race.
Snorkeling and Sea Swimming - Diving into Longdong's Underwater World
The water was so clear that I couldn't resist renting snorkeling gear and jumping in to explore the underwater world. Sunlight filtered through the water, illuminating the colorful coral reefs and schools of fish, making it feel like stepping into a marine version of a Studio Ghibli animation. I also saw many divers with oxygen tanks exploring deeper, confirming that Longdong is indeed a popular spot in the diving community.
Leisurely Afternoon - Picnic and Relaxation by the Sea
After snorkeling, I found a flat rock to sit on, took out the prepared snacks, and enjoyed the sea breeze and the moment of tranquility. In the distance, waves crashed against the rocks, and occasionally, fishing boats slowly passed by, making it feel like the whole world had slowed down.
Journey Home - Taking a Piece of the Sea's Memory
As the sun gradually set, I slowly walked back to the station along the boardwalk. Along the way, memories of Longdong's blue bay and the agile climbers kept flashing in my mind.
Longdong Seaside, it may not have the hustle and bustle of the city, but it has the charm of nature. If you enjoy outdoor adventures or simply savoring the sea view, this place is definitely worth a visit!
