Hualien Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park, formerly the fourth largest forest farm in Taiwan, once known as the Hometown of Taiwan's Elm, regardless of its size or importance, is the most complete and distinctive logging base left by Taiwan.
As early as the beginning of the Japanese occupation, the Japanese began to reclaim in the Lintianshan area. Until the policy of the total ban on logging of natural forests in Taiwan in the 1980s, the logging operation of Lintianshan was officially stopped. For more than a decade, the workstations in the forest area have been successively cut, and the past bustling scenes of Lin Tianshan have gradually disappeared, becoming a quiet and deserted hill city. Now entering the Lintian Mountain Forest Farm, the coffin houses and the old railways left on the hillside are all traces of the past years.
This place is called "Morissaka" during the Japanese occupation. It still retains abandoned Japanese houses, auditoriums and projectors with a long history. A variety of wood carvings were exhibited in the exhibition hall that was converted into a Japanese-style building. The Field Museum is a very fine Japanese-style building. It is well preserved and has a reasonable interior layout. It is a good place to learn about Japanese architecture. During the heyday of
Lintian Mountain, more than 2,000 people lived here. Kindergartens, elementary schools, hot perm shops, welfare agencies, public canteens, railway stations, etc. have emerged as the times require, and even there is a place for public gatherings - Zhongshan Hall, where free movies are broadcast every week. The bustling scene at that time can be imagined.

Hualien's Educational and Recreational Natural and Cultural Attraction: Lintienshan Forestry Cultural Park
Explore the hidden forest gem in Hualien Valley, Lintienshan, which was once Taiwan's fourth largest logging site, following Basianshan, Alishan, and Taipingshan. It was once known as 'Little Shanghai' and remains the most well-preserved logging base. Although logging has been banned, Lintienshan has transformed into a cultural park that combines community and cultural preservation. It is an ideal spot for family visitors to enjoy nature while learning and having fun.
The elevated railway boardwalk and the small logging train are popular photo spots for tourists. The park is rich in various logging tools, traditional firefighting equipment, and other cultural artifacts. It also features the grand Zhongshan Hall, a cluster of Japanese cypress buildings, and a cypress-scented café, perfect for a leisurely afternoon.

#familytrips2024
I brought my family to tour Taiwan in which it was our first overseas trip to Taiwan. One of the places we visited was Lintianshan Forestry Park. It was huge forest/park where there were many trees and you also got to learn about the logging and wood carving process. As stated, you also got to admire the beautiful wood carves in display.
In 2024, I hope to bring my family to Cameron Highlands.

Lintienshan Forestry Culture Park
Lintienshan Forestry Culture Park (林田山林業文化園區) is a historic attraction and there is a museum inside for a visit.
It is a pretty quiet walk along the way and offers a beautiful view of the nature. This place is famous for its cypress wood and we can literally smell it from far!
There are many vendors along the street selling cypress wood related products such as combs, essential oil and handmade crafts!

Hualien The government remodeled the "Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park". The rise and fall of Lin Tianshan In 1991, Taiwan issued a comprehensive policy of banned natural forests. This small town has gradually disappeared and the small town has returned to silence.
Nowadays, it has become the Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park. With the joint efforts of the Forest Service Bureau and the geoscientists, the style of the logging community has been preserved more completely.
Scenic Tour The Hualien Forest Management of the Forest Service Bureau completed the "Lintianshan Forestry Culture Park" in 2007, which will better preserve the forestry history of the park and renovate the railway, exhibition hall and Zhongshan Hall every year. The tourist service center, the president's dormitory, the woodcarving hall, the entrance image, the mechanical repair factory, the forestry nostalgia and the forestry living hall make Lintian Mountain the most complete scenic spot for forestry culture in the eastern region.

Lintian Mo
Lintian Mountain is located in Fenglin Township, Hualien County. It used to be a famous forest farm. It is especially famous in the Japanese occupation era. It was once known as the Hometown of Taiwan's Elm. Now because forest protection has long been discontinued, it has become an industrial relics scenic spot.
The year of transporting wood, also known as "Little Jiufen", is a very quiet literary community. Lin Tianshan still retains the railways, trains, and Japanese-style coffin houses that transported timber that year. Compared with Jiufen, this small industrial remnant is quieter, strolling through the mountains and reminiscing about the time of the year. Very comfortable.
PS: The full-legged pig's foot near Lintian Mountain is worth a visit. It is said to be full girl. In fact, it is a full mother-in-law. The full-time mother-in-law is a Hakka. This Hualien is famous for her full-legged pig's feet. The shop is also based on Hakka-style braised pork trotters and chopped hooves. It tastes fragrant and not salty. The meat is succulent, the entrance is instant, and the price is fair. It is recommended.
