It’s not how deep the water is that matters; it’s not how magical it is if there is a dragon inside. A garden does not necessarily have to be a hundred years old; the key is to appreciate its artistic value.
🏞Lingnan Heyuan is a newly built garden located in Beijiao, Shunde, covering an area of more than 40,000 square meters. It is a combination of Chinese and Western-style architecture in the Republic of China. The traditional Chinese rockery and flowing water are cleverly combined with the typical Western dome arch. It follows the traditional Chinese landscape structure of mountains in the north and water in the south, and negative yin and positive yang. Every group of landscapes here is worth stopping to appreciate. In addition to being able to experience the Lingnan garden culture firsthand, it is also a great place to take photos. It is also a tourist attraction and garden museum that showcases Lingnan garden art and inherits the excellent culture of Cantonese. 🏆This place has been awarded the 2018 Asian Lighting Design Extraordinary Light Award, the China Landscape Architecture Society Garden Engineering Gold Award, and has won many design awards. It can be said that it is not inferior to the Suzhou Gardens, which are known as the most beautiful gardens in China.
🏯Heyuan has a total of four stages of Lingnan garden design, "Ming and Qing Dynasty - Late Qing Dynasty and Early Republic of China - Republic of China - New China", which are integrated into the design of Heyuan, forming four characteristic landscapes: North Mountain and South Water, Architectural Collection, Pavilion Water Village, and Stacked Stone Flower Mountain. The evolution process of modern history can be clearly seen. It also has six major scenes of "Gathering in Harmony, Yueyun Liufeng, Shuiyue Songfeng, Yunxiu Jinglu, Taihe Academy, and Baiwei Xianning", showing the Lingnan intangible cultural heritage and the characteristics of Heheyuan.
When I saw the buildings in "Yunxiu Jinglu", I was deeply attracted by the red bricks from afar! There are buildings here that combine Chinese and Western styles. The walls are red and the roofs are made of traditional hip roofs with green glazed edges. The courtyard is a rockery with stacked stones that meander up like flowers from the sky, forming a pattern of lions ascending to a pavilion. There are rockery on the walls of the building, and the stream seems to flow down from the top floor. Every corner is very suitable for taking pictures.
Chonghe Pavilion: A three-storey loft-style building, the tallest building in the park, with a panoramic view of the small bridge and flowing water. When you look at the reflection of Chonghe Pavilion opposite in the water from the Fanruofang, the rippling waves are beautiful. Taihe Academy: A Lingnan-style building in the Ming and Qing dynasties, it houses a Lingnan garden art exhibition. Inside the academy, there are rockeries and jade ponds, with leaves and branches hanging low in the water, creating a tranquil and elegant atmosphere at every step.
Yunxiu Jinglu: A Lingnan courtyard with the Republic of China style as the main body, it has a Cantonese boutique exhibition hall🎏After enjoying the beautiful garden scenery, you can also watch Cantonese opera, puppet show, Cantonese opera, shadow play, guzheng playing, calligraphy, etc. There are also various Lingnan cultural specialty shops, intangible cultural heritage Xiangyunsha, Lingnan handicrafts, etc.!
