There are two large, dome-shaped botanical gardens in Korea: Seoul Botanical Garden and Geoje Botanical Garden! I took a day trip to Geoje Island with my family during Chuseok, while visiting Busan. 🚗 📍 Location & Information 3595 Geojenamseo-ro, Geoje-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do About 1 hour and 30 minutes from Busan, close to Tongyeong. Parking is limited, but you can use the cafe next to the botanical garden. ☕ 🎟 Admission Fee Adults: 5,000 won / Teenagers: 4,000 won / Children: 3,000 won Free for ages 6 and under and seniors: 65 and over As of 2021, admission is free for Geoje residents who have received at least one dose of COVID-19. 🌴 Jungle Dome Features One hour is enough to fully explore the entire area. The high humidity inside makes it feel like you're in a real jungle! Many photo spots, including artificial waterfalls, unique tropical plants, and a giant bird's nest! 📸 No tripods, no food, and no pets allowed. 🌺 Hot Spots Starting from the second floor of the Jungle Dome, walk through the dense vegetation for a fully immersive jungle experience. Geoje Maemi Fortress In 2003, a citizen built this fortress alone to protect his crops after Typhoon Maemi struck. Now, it's a popular destination on Geoje Island. 🏰 📍 Location Bokhang-gil, Jangmok-myeon, Geoje-si, Gyeongsangnam-do Close to Geoga Bridge, making it a perfect stop on your way between Busan and Geoje! 🚗 There's no dedicated parking lot; you'll need to use a nearby cafe or park on the side of the road. ☕️ There are small, charming cafes on the way to the fortress. While the signs are a bit disorganized, they add a touch of local charm. Perhaps because we went during the Chuseok holiday, there were a ton of people 😅 (They say it's quieter on weekdays!) 🏰 Maemi Castle Scenery The square stones and cement are stacked in regular patterns, giving it the feel of a European castle ✨ The green trees blend in with the surrounding landscape, making it look more like a work of art than a building 🌿 The Mongdol Beach stretches out in front of the sea, adding a unique charm 🪨 Photo spots everywhere 📸 (Stairway to Heaven, castle walls, ocean view cafe, etc.) They say the castle is still under construction. This summer was so hot that we couldn't help but start swimming early. So, on the opening day of Geoje's beach season, we headed straight to Wahyeon Beach and had a successful day of water fun! This place is perfect for renting a parasol and enjoying a full day of activities. You can order snacks or meals while enjoying the cool sea breeze, making it even better! During the day, it's great for swimming, and in the evening, the beach is perfect for a leisurely stroll. This is my experience visiting Hanwha Resort Geoje Belvedere in Geoje Island! The view was absolutely stunning... As soon as I opened the window, the ocean was right in front of me! Relaxing while enjoying the ocean view up close was pure healing~ The resort facilities were clean, and it seemed like a great place to bring kids. There were restaurants and convenience stores, so we didn’t feel the need to go out. It’s easily accessible, located right after crossing the Geoga Bridge. I highly recommend it as a perfect place for family relaxation~!

#myhiddengems After meal we went for a second round at Eden cafe nearby the restaurant, a cafe opened till midnoght selling not only coffee and juices, but also draft beer. We went as a group of 4 and irdered some beers and juices, the lady owner is so kind to offer some nuts, tidbits and her home made pecan oie, how lucky of us and how kind of her!!! The night is spent with laughter, loud talking and we really enjoyed our time there. It is a well night spent and we will definitely go again.

#myhiddengems We were in Geoje for business and went to this shop for dinner called Hwawooya, means the house of Wagyu. They served thinly sliced barbecued Wagyu from Australia, and most of the meat is from prime cuts. We ordered the 900g set for 4 person consisting of different parts of the beef slices, and it comes with celeries, spring onions etc to be eaten with the meat. The quality of the meat is really of high standards and we all really enjoyed them. Finally we complete our meal with the beef soup stock ramen, and the meal is deemed completed and satisfied.
