Kunming, always in love with the passion and gentleness of late autumn
'The slowly falling maple leaves are like thoughts'
The melody of Jay's song slowly rises 🎵
The cinematic feel of 'Maple' comes over
It turns out that Kunming, which is spring-like all year round🍁
Late autumn is also equally passionate and crazy
But it does not lose its romance and gentleness

The fall season (autumn) is a particularly beautiful time to visit Kunming Botanical Garden, typically lasting from late September to November. During this period, the garden's Sweetgum Avenue becomes a highlight, with the leaves transitioning to vibrant shades of red and gold, creating a picturesque atmosphere.
The mild autumn weather in Kunming, often referred to as the "Spring City," enhances the experience. Visitors can also enjoy the garden's diverse plant collections, many of which show seasonal changes, offering a rich palette of colors.
Kunming Botanical Garden, located in the northern suburb of Kunming near Heilongtan, is a scenic destination known for its diverse plant collections and tranquil environment. Spanning 44 hectares, the garden is part of the Kunming Institute of Botany under the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Established in 1938, it focuses on the conservation of rare and endangered plants, especially from the Yunnan Plateau and Hengduan Mountains.
The garden features specialized sections, including a Camellia Garden, Rhododendron Garden, and a Sweetgum Avenue, which is especially beautiful in autumn. Visitors can also explore various themed areas, such as bamboo groves, medicinal herb gardens, and greenhouses. The Camellia Garden is a highlight, showcasing over 1,000 cultivars of camellias, with the city flower Camellia reticulata blooming vibrantly around the Chinese New Year.
Entrance fees are affordable, with tickets costing 10 yuan for the west garden and 5 yuan for the east garden. While the garden is peaceful and suitable for leisurely walks, visitors are advised to bring their own snacks and water, as amenities are limited.

Kunming Botanical Garden: A scenic autumn destination with a maple avenue!
Located in the northern part of the city, Kunming Botanical Garden is divided into east and west sections. The west section is the best place to enjoy the maple leaves. Enter the garden through the north gate on Ciba North Road to enjoy the ginkgo and maple leaves.
The autumn scenery in Kunming Botanical Garden is beautiful. There is a ginkgo forest on the right side not far from the entrance. The ginkgo trees are at their best in autumn. The most spectacular view is the maple avenue.
I bought a ticket at the north gate (tickets are CNY 10 per person) and walked towards the Fuli Palace. Not far away, I saw the golden ginkgo trees on the right side of the road. There were many tourists taking photos under the ginkgo trees, so I decided to continue to the maple avenue.
Near the Fuli Palace, I saw many tourists on the maple avenue. Some were taking photos, some were being photographed, and some were leisurely enjoying the scenery. Although there were many tourists, they also became a beautiful sight in autumn. The maple avenue is a scenic autumn destination! If you want to visit, don't hesitate.
One of the most distinctive features of Kunming Botanical Garden is the maple avenue. More than 700 maple trees are planted along the main road, hence the name "Maple Avenue." The slopes on both sides are also planted with Hamamelis, mosquito trees, water pear trees, horseshoes, red camellias, and other Hamamelidaceae species.
The maple trees start to change color in mid-October and continue until mid-December. They are interspersed with colorful plants such as tulip trees, plane trees, and sycamores, creating a spectacular and beautiful scene. The ancient poem "I stop my car to admire the maple forest at dusk, the frosted leaves are redder than the flowers in February" refers to the maple forest.
✨Kunming Botanical Garden enters the best season for viewing maple leaves in early November. The 2024 maple leaf season will last until the end of December. This year's theme is "Maple leaves like colorful brocade reflect the autumn splendor, leaves dance in the evening glow." A series of science popularization activities will be held, such as themed study tours, DIY experiences, cultural and creative exhibitions, autumn camping, and afternoon tea packages.
✅Travel tips:
Kunming Botanical Garden is easily accessible. Take Metro Line 2 to Longtou Street Station, then transfer to Bus 79 and get off at the Botanical Garden stop.
To avoid crowds, it is recommended to enter the garden at 9 am when it opens. The maple avenue is more beautiful and transparent at this time.
The forest on the left side of the maple avenue, near the Fuli Palace, is already half covered with fallen leaves. If you want to take photos, go soon.

You don’t have to be in Kunming to see cherry blossoms in Yunnan
Thirty years ago, when I saw cherry blossoms in Yunnan, I would think of Yuantong Mountain. I went to Yuantong Mountain to see cherry blossoms and animals. Yunnan has a mild climate and is spring-like all year round, so the cherry blossoms bloom early. During the flowering period, the flowers are mostly pink and red. Although the flowers are small, the flowers are large and the colors are bright. The cherry blossoms will bloom in December and last until the second year. March ends, and the peak flowering period is from January to February. If you want to see it, it is recommended to go during this period. Nowadays, you don’t have to go to Kunming to see cherry blossoms. Wuliang Cherry Blossom Valley, Wuyi Tea Manor, etc. are all good places to see cherry blossoms outdoors. Every year when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, a large number of tourists drive there to watch them. Tickets for Wuliangshan Cherry Blossom Valley are 50 yuan, and admission to Wuyi Tea Manor is free. You don’t have to be in Kunming to see cherry blossoms!

Don't miss a billion!!! If you like flowers and plants, you must go
Winter should be the time when the pine trees and snow cool down, and the clouds on the mountain are frozen. However, in the dome glass house, there are spring lush orchid grass, summer lush shrubs, autumn water-colored yellow fir trees, and winter-blooming primitive wintersweet.
Fuligong seems to be favored by time, and you can see the epitome of the four seasons here at any time.
Time suddenly stopped, and spring, summer, autumn and winter rushed into my heart in an instant.
This is a winter without snow and wind, but with sparse branches and leaves, and only green leaves can be seen.
Every moment spent with plants, soil, sunlight and breeze is the best season in the world.
The outdoor area is very large and very photogenic. There are movie-like grasslands, forests and clear sea water everywhere.
Fuligong is like a palace in the tropical rainforest. You can see many kinds of rare plants here. If you come here on a sunny day, it is easy to encounter the Tyndall effect.
Tickets.
Outdoor adult ticket 10 yuan, child ticket 5 yuan.
Fuligong adult ticket (flower room) + special explanation 80 yuan, child ticket 40 yuan, remember to bring proof~
Tickets can be purchased online (search: Kunming Botanical Garden Wisdom Park).
Transportation:.
Drive by yourself or take the No. 9 bus. The No. 9 bus goes directly to the north gate of the Botanical Garden, which is very convenient.
Precautions:.
You need to book one day in advance to enter Fuligong. It opens three times a day: 10:30, 14:00 and 15:30. The entire tour time is about 1.5 hours.

Camellia is the camellia of the camellia girl, and also the camellia of Coco Chanel
"Camellia blooms and spring has not returned, when spring returns, it is the time when the flowers are in full bloom." The people of Yunnan really love camellia too much.
Photography: Camellia is the camellia of the camellia girl, and also the camellia of Coco Chanel. Especially the white camellia, which has a fresh and refined temperament. It is very suitable for taking close-up portraits; in places where the flowers are dense, it is also easy to take beautiful photos with a sense of atmosphere.
Transportation method of the East Garden of Kunming Botanical Garden: self-driving or bus, not far to ride a small bicycle, there is a parking place at the door.
Ticket: 5 yuan per person for Kunming Botanical Garden East Garden of Kunming Botanical Garden
