🏞 Khao Tapu, Phang Nga Province or James Bond Island
This island is shaped like a huge rock stuck in the sea at the mouth of Phang Nga Bay, resembling a giant nail driven deep into the water🔨, so it is called "Khao Tapu".
The name "James Bond Island" comes from the James Bond movie 🕵️♂️ The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) which was filmed on this island, making it known to tourists all over the world. I came to see it with my own eyes, and I can tell you that it is truly beautiful, no lie.

Khao Tapu, Phang Nga Province
Khao Tapu, a tourist attraction in Phang Nga, James Bond Island Khao Tapu is a tourist attraction that nature has created beautifully in the middle of the Andaman Sea. You should experience it once in your life. This article will review a trip to Khao Tapu (Khao Tapu, Koh Tapu, Koh Tapu) in Ao Phang Nga National Park.
Near Khao Tapu is Khao Phing Kan.
Walk about 100 meters from Khao Tapu, you will find Khao Phing Kan, which looks like a cliff that is tilted from the top to the bottom. There will be a gap below where tourists can touch the stalactites and stalagmites that nature has created. It is equally beautiful and inviting.
I was very satisfied with my trip to Khao Tapu this time, and it was worth the price I paid. If anyone is looking for a place to relax and experience nature in a way that requires the sea, I recommend visiting "Khao Tapu" in Ao Phang Nga National Park in the middle of the Andaman Sea. You will definitely not be disappointed.

Koh Tapu is located in Ao Phang Nga National Park, Phang Nga Province.
A popular tourist destination that both Thais and foreigners must visit because the highlight here is the nail-shaped mountain. Most importantly, it is well-known because the movie James Bond 007 came to film here. Another spot on the island is Khao Phing Kan, where people like to take pictures of each other leaning against the rocks.
There are also souvenir shops on the island, as well as shops selling drinks and snacks.

Thrilled with the once in a lifetime moment. This is a must experience at James Bond Island, located in Phang Nga Bay. Famous for its 1974 James Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun" with signature limestone cliffs, picturesque beaches. Surrounded by small caves and a beach. Best way to explore this place is canoeing through mangroves. 🛶

James Bond Island Tour
I had the pleasure of visiting the James Bond Island. Compared to PhiPhi island, the water wasn’t as crystal clear but it was still so breathtaking. Canoeing through the cave was a great experience as well. It was good to see the different rock formations too so, If you are looking for a chilled day out in the ocean, this is it.

Step into
Step into cinematic scenery at James Bond Island & Khao Phing Kan 🌴🕶️ These iconic islets in Takua Thung are famous for their dramatic limestone cliffs, emerald waters, and movie-star allure. You’ll find postcard-perfect backdrops and a taste of adventure at every turn!
Kick off your day at Ko Tapu (James Bond Island) where the legendary vertical rock juts out of the water—arrive early to avoid crowds and snag those classic shots from the main beach. Take a longtail boat ride around the island for unique photo angles of Ko Tapu against turquoise waves (the golden hour here is magical!). Don’t forget sturdy shoes, as the beaches can get slippery.
Next, boat across to Khao Phing Kan for cave exploring and hidden lagoon views. Wander through the shadowy caves (bring a flashlight if you’re keen to see more), and marvel at the lush foliage and delicate rock formations. The elevated lookout spots offer sweeping panoramas—perfect for panoramic snaps. Support local vendors selling coconut ice cream and handmade souvenirs near the dock.
Tips: The area can get very hot—pack sunscreen, water, and a hat. If possible, join smaller group tours for a more relaxed experience. Beware of strong tides and watch your step on slippery rocks. These islands don’t have ATM access, so bring enough cash!

Dream Come True: 2 Days of Bliss on Phi Phi and James Bond Islands
While staying in Phuket, it's a must to visit the nearby islands – Phi Phi and James Bond. Opting for a 2-day tour is the best choice – you'll get more impressions, and it's much more convenient than exploring on your own.
I had an incredible time on this short voyage 💎
🩵 We departed from the island on a speedboat, with snorkeling along the way. It's amazing to observe the marine world and all the secrets it holds!
🩵 We visited Maya Bay, where the movie "The Beach" was filmed. Unfortunately, swimming there is not allowed, but you can (and should!) take stunning photos.
🩵 We stayed overnight on Phi Phi in a decent hotel. In the evening, we got to witness an impressive fire show 🔥
🩵 James Bond Island is a unique rock formation rising from the water. It gained fame thanks to the movie "The Man with the Golden Gun."

[Phuket🇹🇭] James Bond Island Tour & New Year's Lantern Experience 🎆 🛶 ✨
While in Phuket, I took part in the James Bond Island Tour.
This island, which was the filming location for the movie "The Man with the Golden Gun," is a popular photo spot with its distinctive rock formations towering above the sea. 📸✨
🚤 Tour Features
Compared to other island-hopping tours, this one was simpler and included fewer island hopping stops.
However, the travel time was shorter and less physically demanding, so the main benefit was that we could enjoy it well into the evening. 🙆
🌊 Sea Canoeing Experience
Canoeing through caves was exhilarating, as we got up close and personal with the emerald-green ocean!
It was a relaxing time enjoying the tropical scenery.
🎆 At night, we headed to Patong Beach for a New Year's Eve event.
After the tour, we headed to Patong Beach for the New Year's countdown!
The sight of countless lanterns floating up into the night sky was truly magical. 🌌✨
It was as if wishes were being sucked into the sky, the perfect way to start the new year.
Enjoy nature at the filming locations during the day, and create a special moment with the lanterns at night.
Even a simple tour was a unique way to spend the whole day in Phuket. 🌴✨
Where will you be spending the New Year this year?

1 Day Trip, chartered longtail boat...at Phang Nga Bay⛵️🏝️🏔️
Charter a longtail boat with props set up on the bow for awesome photos to share on social media. There's also a photographer to take care of you and take photos throughout the trip. Splitting the cost between a friend and a few hundred baht per person. Today, my friend and I took a longtail boat from NAZMA TOUR. They offer several different itineraries. Today, we chose Program 2, chartering a boat for 3,000 baht and taking 2.5-4 hours. The trip will take you to:
- Khao Phing Kan
- Khao Tapu
- Koh Phanak
- Koh Hong
Each boat can accommodate 1-10 people.
This program includes: ✅
- Charter boat fee
- Photo props on the bow
- Local guide for guidance and photography
- Boat driver
- Accident insurance
- Life jacket
- Drinking water
But not included: ❌
- Canoe fee: 300 baht per person
- Ao Phang Nga National Park entrance fee: 60 baht per adult, 30 baht per child, and 300 baht per foreigner
- Lunch on the island
- Subdistrict Administrative Organization (SAO) entrance fee is 10 baht per person, and parking is 20 baht per car.
Today, I went with five friends, and splitting the bill, it came to 600 baht per person. I think it's a great value because we got to see nature and take tons of beautiful photos. The guide was excellent, gave good advice, and most importantly, took great photos. The boat driver was also skilled and experienced, making the boat ride not scary at all. This is another interesting activity for anyone visiting Phang Nga.

Khao Tapu (James Bond Island), Ao Phang Nga National Park
Khao Tapu is a major tourist attraction in Phang Nga Province, renowned worldwide for being the filming location for the James Bond 007 movie "The Man with the Golden Gun."
Originally part of an island, the island was eroded by waves, leaving it as a prominent rocky island with a narrow base and a larger top. It is located 15 kilometers from Ao Phang Nga National Park.
It is mostly populated by tourists, and there are souvenir shops selling pearl jewelry. The park entrance fee is 60 baht for adults and 30 baht for children. The beautiful location offers numerous photo opportunities and great content creation. The water is crystal clear and suitable for swimming. Most tourists are swimming there. On our visit, we chartered a longtail boat, with a package that included four attractions, including Khao Tapu. The boat ride to Khao Tapu was quite long, but the natural scenery around the island made it feel like a short journey. There are some stairs along the way, so be careful. If you're in Phang Nga, consider stopping by to appreciate the natural beauty at Check out Khao Tapu.

Located in Phang Nga Bay, this dramatic limestone islet rises sharply from emerald-green waters, creating a surreal and striking view.
