We stopped at the viewpoint of Kirkjufellsfoss, the waterfall across the road, and it was easy to walk across the waterfall. The uniqueness of this place will amaze you when you see it; words cannot truly describe how special it is. The view from the top of the waterfall is fantastic, and you can take some stunning photos of the waterfall and the mountains. Every second of the long drive from Reykjavik is worth it, and you won't regret experiencing it in person. I hope to return one day and will never forget the grandeur and atmosphere of this place. You can park in the parking lot and walk to the waterfall, but be aware that the parking fee is very expensive, costing 10,000 ISK no matter how long you stay. Credit cards are accepted, but don't forget to pay, as there are cameras to record your car.

June 29, Hvammstangi - Snaefellsnes Peninsula - Reykjavik Today's itinerary: Snaefellsnes Peninsula, including Kirkjufell, the Red Church, and Arnarstapi. The Snaefellsnes Peninsula is known as a miniature Iceland, where you can see volcanoes, glaciers, waterfalls, black sand beaches, charming fishing villages, and abundant wildlife. The mountain is also famous for French writer Jules Verne's novel Journey to the Center of the Earth. After driving for about 3 hours from the hotel, we finally arrived at the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. The scenery along the way was beautiful, with snow-capped mountains, the sea, and tundra. First stop, Kirkjufell Kirkjufell, which translates to "Church Mountain", is more commonly known as "Kirkjufell" because of its resemblance to a fallen straw hat. Although Kirkjufell is only 460 meters high, its unique shape and stunning surroundings have made it one of the iconic landmarks of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. It has also been selected by many professional photographers as "one of the 27 reasons why Iceland is the most beautiful country in the world". Kirkjufell is surrounded by a beach and a beautiful walking path. We didn't climb it, but just took photos at the foot of Kirkjufell. The classic spot is to take a photo with the waterfall at the foot of Kirkjufell as the foreground. The waterfall is picturesque and echoes the shape of Kirkjufell, making it a great photo opportunity. In the evening, we stayed at the Konvin Hotel by Reykjavik Keflavik Airport, a hotel near the airport, convenient for catching our flight the next day.

Exploring Iceland in summer is a different experience itself, the golden hour is endless till morning, and walking around at crazy hours as 2 or 3 am with soft light is simply magical.

Church Hill Kirkjufell, because the shape of the frontal look is like a straw hat, and is called the straw hat mountain by domestic friends. There is a parking lot along the road between the Straw Hat Mountain and the waterfall, and this iconic viewing position can be reached by taking a few minutes along the trail of the waterfall. At a glance, you can see the Kirkijufellsfoss, on the other side of the road, across the road from the Church Hill. I can see a lot of photographers, holding a row of tripods around this position. The best shooting position is on the edge of the church on the edge of a cascade of waterfall streams, very easy to find. Basically it is a must-shoot angle. Of course, don't patronize such a position, if time permits, try to find somewhere else.
