My first time staying at such a luxurious hotel, and itâs absolutely amazing!!
Kimpton Shanghai, The Front Bay
Just got back from Kimpton Shanghai, The Front Bay, and this experience was simply incredible! This hotel is tailor-made for people like us who love taking photos and chasing fashion. The moment you step in, the lobby design immediately catches your eye, with a black, gray, and white color scheme that exudes a vintage yet stylish French vibe. I especially love the "Living Room at Home" design in the lobby, featuring leather sofas, an electric fireplace, and semi-transparent curtains, making you feel like youâve stepped into an upscale clubâlazy and comfortable.
đď¸ Infinity Pool with Stunning River Views
The rooftop infinity heated pool is a must-mention! This spot is definitely a popular Instagram hotspot. The pool is nestled within a tropical garden, surrounded by lush greenery, creating a beautiful environment. The best part is, when you look up from the pool, you get an unbeatable view of the Huangpu River and the West Bund scenery. Imagine soaking in the water while enjoying the river viewâhow amazing is that?
đ Creative Cuisine, A Feast for the Taste Buds
Speaking of food, the hotelâs Le ChloĂŠ French Brasserie left a deep impression on me. The dishes here blend French cuisine with local Shanghai flavors, and each plate looks like a work of art. Breakfast is semi-buffet style, with a modest variety but every item is exquisite. The biggest surprise is the daily social hour from 5 to 6 PM, where the lobby offers simple snacks and drinks, making it feel like youâre attending a small party.
đ Secret Bar, Full of Surprises
The bar is another highlight of the hotel. Le Salon ChloĂŠ bar is exquisitely decorated, with frosted glass cocktail tools sparkling under the lights. The bartenders are top-notch and can craft cocktails tailored to your taste, so no worries about being disappointed. Even more interesting, thereâs a hidden passage inside the bar that leads to the Upper Deck bar upstairs. This bar features a vintage Parisian style, with pink fluffy chairs, red retro sofas, and gorgeous glass chandeliersâevery detail is perfect for photo ops.
đ Comfortable Rooms, Full of Thoughtful Details
The rooms are uniquely designed, starting at 48ăĄ, continuing the hotelâs vintage French style. The minibar and TV inside the room can be raised and lowered, making the space look cleaner and more streamlined. The bathroom is equipped with a smart magic mirror and high-end Dutch fragrance brand toiletriesâthese little touches are truly thoughtful.
đś Prime Location, Plenty of Nearby Attractions
The hotelâs location is very convenient, right in the heart of the Front Bay CBD area. Itâs close to popular spots like Front Bay Leisure Park, Front Bay Taikoo Li, and the Oriental Sports Center. Itâs also easy to get to Disneyland, and not far from both Hongqiao and Pudong airports.
đ Tips
⢠Photo Tips: The infinity pool is the best spot for photos. Itâs recommended to go early when there are fewer people for better shots. Also, the hotel lobby and bar are full of design elements, so any corner is great for photos.
⢠Dining Suggestions: If you have time, definitely try the semi-buffet breakfast at the restaurantâitâs exquisite and delicious. The drinks during social hour are also good, perfect for enjoying with friends.

In short, Kimpton Shanghai, The Front Bay is truly a hidden gem, especially perfect for young people like us to check in and experience. Iâll definitely come back if I get the chance!
