Chiang Mai – Khun Chang Khian (A Short but Satisfying Trip) 🛵
📍 Starting Point: Chiang Mai Zoo
🕘 Departure Time: Around 9 AM
This morning, we started from Chiang Mai Zoo. After checking the condition of our motorcycles, filling up the gas tank, and donning windbreakers, arm warmers, and sun protection gloves, we headed towards Doi Suthep – Phra That Doi Suthep. We drove through the winding roads and enjoyed the stunning natural scenery along the way.
It didn't take long to reach Phra That Doi Suthep. We stopped to pay respects at the Phra That Doi Suthep for good fortune and recharged with breakfast. There were a variety of vendors offering both noodle soup and made-to-order dishes.
After filling our stomachs and taking care of our personal business, we continued on to Khun Chang Khian Village, only about 6.5 kilometers away. Although not far, the winding mountain roads made for a rather long journey. However, the views along the way and the natural beauty along the way were truly worth it.
☀️ The roads were clear, making for a leisurely ride with no cars.
We chose to go on a weekday, which meant the roads were clear, making it easy to ride our motorcycles without rushing. Upon reaching Khun Chang Khian Village, We stopped at a small coffee shop called Formula Hmong Coffee, located just before the entrance to the village school.
When we arrived, the kids were just having lunch. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, giving us a true glimpse into the local lifestyle.
☕ The coffee was fragrant and unexpectedly delicious.
The coffee here was incredibly delicious, exceeding our expectations. The owner explained that they use locally grown coffee beans, which not only provided excellent coffee but also supported the local farmers. The price was also friendly.
📸 Stopping for a scenic viewpoint before heading back.
After our coffee, we took the same route back, but didn't forget to stop and take photos at the Doi Pui viewpoint for a beautiful souvenir. We then made the long descent down the mountain to the foot of Doi Suthep around 3:00 PM.
✨ Trip Summary
This trip was a truly relaxing and enjoyable experience. The route was easy, with good roads all the way. There was a section before reaching Khun Chang Khian village where the road was a bit narrow and concrete, but if you ride slowly, it was no problem. Our 125cc motorcycle was a comfortable climb.
