Khon Kaen Bicentennial Park Night Market: A non-touristy local night market where you can take photos of beautiful temples, sunsets, and clouds.
#September2024
Khon Kaen is the largest city in northeastern Thailand and the third largest city in Thailand. It once competed with Bangkok for the capital. If you come to Khon Kaen and want to visit the night market, you are in luck. Because Khon Kaen is a very Thai city, the night market here is not as commercialized as the night markets in other tourist cities in Thailand, such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai. The night markets here serve local residents.
Here I recommend that if you want to visit the night market in Khon Kaen, you must go to the "Khon Kaen Bicentennial Park Night Market". Because here you can not only buy a lot of delicious food 😋, but also take pictures of the beautiful temples, pagodas and sunsets. If you are lucky, you can even see the sunset clouds. It's a good place to go shopping and take photos📸.
The night market starts at 5 o'clock every day and ends at 11 o'clock at night. There are various Thai local delicacies and drinks. I especially recommend the watermelon 🍉 smoothie (25 baht) and iced Thai milk tea (20 baht), very cheap but very delicious.
For those who like visiting night markets and taking beautiful photos, you must visit this night market when you arrive in Khon Kaen.

【Wat Phayaram Luang】The largest Buddhist temple in Khon Kaen, where prayers and worship are particularly effective
Wat Phraya Luang is the largest temple in Khon Kaen, the third largest city in Thailand. It is located next to Khon Kaen Bicentennial Park and very close to another famous temple attraction in Khon Kaen, the Thousand-Layered Pagoda. You can visit the Phayalan Luang Temple first and then follow the lakeside path to visit the Thousand-Layered Pagoda.
It is said that the abbot of Wat Phraya Luang is a highly accomplished monk, and many important figures in Thailand would come to this temple to ask him to pray for blessings. It is said that meditating and worshipping Buddha here are very effective. Usually there are not many tourists visiting the temple, most of them are locals. The pagoda architecture in the temple is very majestic and also very suitable for taking photos 📸 and checking in. Please note that you must take off your shoes before entering the temple and you are not allowed to wear shorts or skirts.

Khon Kaen Bicentennial Park: A Landmark Urban Lake Park with Clear Waters, Perfect for Leisure!
Located in the heart of Khon Kaen, Thailand's third-largest city, Khon Kaen Bicentennial Park was established two hundred years ago when the city was founded. It is a landmark attraction in Khon Kaen.
The park features a large artificial lake with clear, rippling waters that reflect the blue sky and white clouds, creating a unique charm. A boardwalk around the lake is perfect for jogging and walking. Every morning and evening, locals come here to exercise, and couples can be seen sitting by the lake, enjoying romantic moments. The most beautiful scenery in Thailand is its people.
Every evening at 5 PM, a local night market opens at the park entrance, offering delicious and affordable food that attracts many locals. Next to the park is the Khon Kaen City Museum, making it a great place to visit together. It's definitely worth a visit!

Thai Temple Tour
Where to go when you come to Thailand? Of course, you should go to the temples! There are more than 30,000 temples of all sizes in Thailand. I really like to experience this exotic Thai culture and see how the locals come to the temple to worship, their food, clothing, housing and transportation. This is a good way to understand the local culture. Most temples in Thailand do not require tickets. Only some of the more famous ones may require tickets, but they are still open to locals for free. You can see them coming to the temples with their families. There are also many restaurants near the temples. I especially like to try local restaurants. The taste is authentic and the price is cheap, the quantity is large and you can be full. There is a night market next to the reservoir in the evening. There are quite a lot of stalls, and it is not hot.
