I traveled from Rome to Kaunas 1 weeks ago. I really never felt in love night walks, but in Kaunas and its lights made me to find different feelings down the streets. I started going for a walk every night. Without exception. On snowy, sometimes rainy nights, one can feel mild chilly wind during the walk. Actually, Lithuania is a northern European country. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the oldest church in Kaunas and one of the earliest Gothic brick buildings in Kaunas. It was built in 1400💎 The Town Hall Square is the main square in the old town. It is the location of the Kaunas Town Hall and surrounding buildings. One of the stand out attractions of Kaunas is the city's castle, dating back to the medieval times. Only about one third of the castle remains to this day but it is worth seeing such an iconic relic of history. It has an illustrious history that dates back to the 14th century and was attacked and captured by the Teutonic order. Much of the castle was restored in 2010 and is now open to the public. In 2018, a 7 metre high bronze statue of a horseman was added to the grounds, portraying the "freedom warrior."

The Vytautas military museum has a great display of Lithuanian history over the past few centuries. It also features a small exhibition on the latest Russian occupation of Ukraine. The exhibitions are split over three floors and it even features a crypt in the basement. Visitors can see many of the weapons accumulated from medieval swords to modern era guns. Entry is five euros for adults though there are concessions for students.

It’s located right in the city center of Kaunas and it’s easy to reach from any place in the city. The area around includes a nice park to walk around.
