The remarkable Kaunas Castle 🏯

One of the stand out attractions of Kaunas is the city's castle, dating back to the medieval times. Only about one third of the castle remains to this day but it is worth seeing such an iconic relic of history. It has an illustrious history that dates back to the 14th century and was attacked and captured by the Teutonic order. Much of the castle was restored in 2010 and is now open to the public. In 2018, a 7 metre high bronze statue of a horseman was added to the grounds, portraying the "freedom warrior."
