Located in the fishing port with the largest tuna production in Japan, there is a hotel standing opposite like an island. In fact, it has a connecting road, but because it is difficult to drive and the parking space is limited, there is an exclusive parking lot near the city. There are also fixed shuttle buses, which is very convenient.
It is recommended that you must experience the turtle boat prepared by the hotel on the way there, just like Urashima Taro, it is super cool. If you drive on the way back, you can take a bus and go directly to the parking lot.
The hotel is mainly divided into three sections. There is one that overlooks the Pacific Ocean, one that looks out to the fishing port, and another that is located on high floors in the mountainous area. The hotel is quite large, and it is tiring just to walk around the hotel. The hotel also has wheelchairs available for those in need, which is really thoughtful.
This time we stayed at the Sunrise Tower, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The sunrise is also super beautiful when the weather is good. We also recommend going to the back mountain, where you can take the super long escalator (often halfway closed) or the elevator, and the scenery is also super beautiful.
The hotel has four main bathing areas, two of which are built in caves, which are super cool. You can also hear the sound of the waves. There are also restaurants and convenience stores in the hotel. The convenience stores are not open 24 hours a day, so you have to go early if you want to shop.

Wakayama Tuna Cutting Show at Katsuura Fishing Market, Nachikatsuura
Located in the fishing village harbor of Nachikatsuura, this port is Japan's number one in tuna production, which is truly special.
Here, you can enjoy tuna-related delicacies at a very cost-effective price, including sashimi, rice bowls, sushi, and more. There aren't many shops inside, so you have to order and pay using a machine, then take a ticket to the shop to collect your food.

Nachi Taisha Grand Shrine and the Three-Story Pagoda Waterfall
Located in the mountains, it is considered the most expansive and beautiful shrine among the Kumano Sanzan, but correspondingly, it has the most challenging access. For those without a car, the journey begins with a walk from the bus stop. If you have a car, you can park closer, and the walk is fairly moderate.
The most famous photo spot here is the three-story pagoda at the back. From the platform, you can capture both the pagoda and the waterfall, which are incredibly beautiful and spectacular. The whole trip takes about 45 minutes to an hour, not including the climb.
There are mainly two shrines, one red and one wooden, giving the impression of one being new and the other old. Additionally, there's a large tree hollow nearby that you can pass through for blessings of safety, which is quite interesting.

Cave Open-Air Hot Spring Urashima Hotel in Nachikatsuura
Located at the fishing port with Japan's highest tuna yield, there stands a hotel that appears to be on a small island across the way. In reality, it is accessible by a connecting road, which is somewhat difficult to navigate and has limited parking space. There's a dedicated parking lot nearby in the town, complete with a regular shuttle bus service, making it very convenient.
It's recommended to experience the hotel's 'turtle boat' on the way there, just like the tale of Urashima Taro, which is super cool. For those driving, you can take the bus back to the parking lot.
The hotel is mainly divided into three buildings, some facing the Pacific Ocean, some overlooking the fishing port, and others situated in the high mountain area with high floors and a large area. Just walking around the hotel can be tiring. Wheelchairs are also available for those in need, which is very considerate.
We stayed in the Sunrise Pavilion with a view of the Pacific Ocean, where the sunrise is incredibly beautiful when the weather is good. It's also recommended to visit the mountain behind the hotel, where you can take a super long escalator (often half-closed) or an elevator to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The hotel has four main bathing areas, two of which are built into caves, which is super cool, and you can even hear the sound of the waves. The hotel also has restaurants and a convenience store, which is not open 24 hours, so plan your shopping accordingly.

Discovering the Majestic Nachi Waterfall and the Sacred Kumano Sanzan
Located on Mount Nachi, the renowned Fudarakusanji Shrine is a key attraction in Wakayama and part of the World Cultural Heritage.
Key attractions on Mount Nachi include: Daimonzaka, Fudarakusanji Shrine (Nachi Waterfall), and Kumano Nachi Taisha (Pagoda of Seiganto-ji).
Next to the Fudarakusanji Shrine, there is a parking lot. A short flight of stairs leads to the shrine, which can be a bit challenging for those who don't exercise regularly.
The waterfall is truly magnificent, especially if it has rained in the past day or two, making it an awe-inspiring sight. It's definitely worth the visit.

A bowl of tuna
Nachikatsuura (Kii Katsuura) is famous for its tuna, but Ichirin near the station is especially recommended. It's crowded during the day, but especially at night it's full of regulars.

Mountain and water merge into one‼ ️The best viewing point in Nachi👏🏻 The three-story pagoda of Nachi Mountain Seigantoji Temple☺️
Nachi day trip although very rushed but because its attractions are quite concentrated😂 so can go to several places to visit
So it's worth going if you have time😝
Among them, I like it the most ❤️ Nachishan Qinggandu Temple 💕
Its triple tower is a must-see
Nachisan Aoki Toji Temple is located on the edge of Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine😍 It is also within the holy land and pilgrimage road of Mount Kii😌
It was also registered as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2004🤭
The Qingandu Temple is said to be actually founded in the 4th century AD!! ️ So it already has 1600 years of history as much😌
There is a red triple pagoda behind the main hall of Qinggan Toji Temple😆 and the mountain forest of Nachi Falls forms a beautiful spot🙈
From JR Kii Katsuura Station, take the Kumano Gobo Nankai Bus🚌 to the finish line, Mount Nachi and then go straight up😂 Aoki Toji Temple is on the right😝
Aokido Temple is the first of the 33 places in the Western Kingdom☺️Represents the starting point of the ancient tour route in Japan🇯🇵🤔 Many believers will set off here and then visit the 33 ancient temples in Kansai!! ️
The history of Qing'an Du Temple can be traced back to the 4th century😆
It seems that the foundation was opened by the monk Naked Master from India to Japan 🤔 However, the building was ordered to be burned down by Oda Nobunaga 🥹
It was rebuilt in 1590🤪 It is the oldest building in the Kumano area
This hall is free 🆓 to visit 👍🏻 worship is one of the incarnations of Ruyi Wheel Guanyin Bodhisattva ❤️ So this hall is also called Ruyi Wheel Hall 🤭
But the most important scenery of Qinggan Toji Temple is not the main hall😂 It looks like a supporting role The focus is on the triple Takanachi Falls in the back😝
So after the worship, you must continue walking🙈 so that you can see the unparalleled scenery
The most classic of Nachi Mountain is the vermilion triple tower 😍 Behind the ancient Nachi Falls is 133 meters high pouring down 👍🏻 see people's eyes bright ❤️ However, the existing triple tower was actually rebuilt in 1972 🤣 enter the visit must pay 200yen tickets 🎫

[Wakayama] The first temple of the 33 Kannon temples of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage
Visited in April 2023
*Seiganto-ji Temple
The first temple of the Thirty-Three Kannon Temples of the Western Region, Nachisan Seiganto-ji Temple, along with Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, is a center of Kumano faith and attracts a lot of faith😊
It is said that the beginning was when the monk Naked Priest, who came to Nachi from India during the reign of Emperor Nintoku, felt the presence of Kannon Bodhisattva at Nachi Falls and built a hermitage at the current location✨
The Chozuya is said to be a water of longevity that will make you live longer if you drink it😊

[Wakayama] Climb the 467 steps and enjoy a spectacular view
Visited in April 2023
*Kumano Nachi Taisha
Kumano Nachi Taisha, which has attracted the faith of many people since ancient times, has flourished as the center of Kumano faith along with Nachisan Seiganto-ji Temple, and many pilgrims still visit it today✨
The shrine, located at an altitude of about 500 meters after climbing 467 stone steps, consists of six buildings, each of which enshrines a different god, with Fusumi-no-mikoto as the main deity😊
Fusumi-no-mikoto is also known as Izanami-no-mikoto, and is said to be in charge of the creation and growth of all things, and is worshiped as the guardian deity of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and fishing, as well as the god of matchmaking☺️

[Wakayama] Impressive! A large waterfall you can see up close
Visited in April 2023
* Nachi Falls
It is said that there are 48 waterfalls in the entire mountain, and the one with the largest drop is Nachi Otaki. ✨
This waterfall is also called Ichinotaki, and is 133m high, 13m wide at the mouth, and 10m deep at the bottom. 😊
Relatively close to the upstream of this waterfall are waterfalls called Ninotaki and Sannotaki, and the three waterfalls from Ichinotaki to Sannotaki are collectively designated as a national scenic spot. ✨
At Hiroki Shrine, the waterfall itself is worshipped as a sacred object☺️
Therefore, there is no shrine dedicated to the gods at Hiroki Shrine, and the shrine worships Nachi-Mitoki directly☺️
Hiraki Shrine has a very long history, and originally the gods of the waterfall and the gods of Kumano were worshipped at the site of Hiroki Shrine on Mount Nachi, and it is said that in the 5th year of Emperor Nintoku's reign, Kumano Nachi Taisha was built and the shrine was moved to its current location✨

[Wakayama] Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine and Nachi Falls
As one of the Kumano Sanzan shrines, it is the head shrine of the Kumano Shrines, which number about 4,000 nationwide, and is a highly revered shrine as the No. 1 miraculous shrine in Japan, the Kumano Sansho Gongen. Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine is one of the three shrines in the Kumano Sanzan Shrine. It is also the head shrine of the Kumano Sansho Gongen Shrine, which is the No. 1 miraculous shrine in Japan. 📍Nachiyama 1, Nachikatsuura-cho, Higashimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture We walked from Nachi Taisha Shrine to Nachi Falls! 📍Nachiyama 1, Nachikatsuura-cho, Higashimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture The sight of 1 ton of water falling per second is very impressive! #2023travelwish This is Nachi Taisha Shrine and Nachi waterfall situated in Kumano City, Wakayama prefecture. Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine can be reached by bus from both Kii-Katsuura Station and Nachi Station. The hike up the Daimon-zaka was amazing, the air is so fresh and you can feel the beauty of Mother Nature. It is so peaceful and serene. I wish that I can travel to more unique and peaceful places in Japan! 😊

Kumano Bettei Nakanoshima, an inn on the blue island
We found a private, luxurious inn in Wakayama's Nanki Katsuura Onsen, where the entire island is a ryokan and can only be reached by private boat✨
✅All rooms have ocean views
✅A spectacular open-air bath where you can feel the ocean♨️
✅Even though it's by the sea, the sulfur springs are of the highest quality
✅The quality of the food is on another level🤤
We can confidently say that this is an inn worth visiting, even if it's far away👍

[Wakayama] The best fatty tuna and whale in Katsuura!
There was a market next to the fishing port of Nachikatsuura!
It was a facility for tourists, and we had freshly caught tuna and whale.
After staying at Hotel Urashima, we went there the next day. It looked like the Shinkansen was going to be stopped due to a typhoon, so we quickly went to the last tourist spot...
2 pieces of tuna for 1,200 yen! It was great!

[Wakayama] Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine!
We went to Kumano Nachi Taisha, a World Heritage Site!
Even though it was pouring rain, the vermilion temple was very beautiful! There was also a shrine dedicated to the Yatagarasu.
It's a really intense power spot. Be sure to prepare for the walk.
The rice cakes I ate on the way back were delicious, so I bought some as a souvenir.
When I get back, I'll soak in Nachikatsuura Onsen🧖♀️

This time we recommend this place✨
Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine, which is also on the route of the Kumano Kodo✨
Address: 1 Nachisan, Nachikatsuura-cho, Higashimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture 649-5301
Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine is located on the mountainside about an hour up the mountain from Mt. Nachi✨
The large torii gate and the stately building are very tasteful, and the view of Nachi Falls from the summit is a spectacular power spot✨
There are also walkways carved into tree roots, and they also sell amulets and goshuin, so it's also recommended for collecting goshuin✨

Ichirin is a popular restaurant near the fishing port that requires reservations.
Address: 4-4-19 Tsukiji, Nachikatsuura-cho, Higashimuro-gun, Wakayama Prefecture
Atmosphere/Facilities: The large noren curtain at the entrance is the landmark, and the restaurant was full, with customers coming in one after another✨
Recommended points: This restaurant is irresistible for drinkers, as it serves seasonal fish caught in nearby waters and has a wide variety of sake✨
The sashimi is very fresh, the fried food and tempura are crispy, and the broth of the hitsumabushi at the end is delicious, so I had a second helping✨
It gets crowded, so it's recommended to make a reservation✨
Average price: 3,500 yen to 5,000 yen
Budget per person: 6,500 yen
Rating: Overall rating ⭐4.3

Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine⛩World Cultural Heritage
Wakayama is both Kumano Sanzan and can also be called Kumano Sansha.
It is a World Heritage Site listed on the Kumano Ancient Road ❤️ Everything here is closely related to nature
It can be said that it is the spiritual sanctuary of the Japanese 👍🏻 Not many natives will come to worship 😌 Especially the Kumano Nachi Taisha that we consider the origin of Kumano belief
The Nachi Falls below the shrine are a very important!! ️ of attractions
Its triple tower and waterfall are a charming sight not to be missed when visiting the Kumano Kodo
Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine is located in Nachi Katsuura-cho, Wakayama Prefecture
In fact, Nachisuke is just a small fishing village😬 Every summer when many tourists come here there will be a lot of life
The rest of the time is relatively quiet
At JR Kii Katsuura Station there will be a bus directly to Kumano Nachi Taisha 💕 However the frequency is relatively small 😅 an hour only one
So to fit the right time otherwise there will be a long wait
The bus 🚌 terminal is to "Nachisan"
After getting off at Damenzaka Station you will see the stone steps
It is the entrance to the shrine 🤪 There are probably 267 classes 🤣 It's quite hard to walk in the summer
So remember to carry enough water ❤️!! ️
After walking up the long stone steps in front of you is the classic vermilion worship hall of Nachi Taisha Shrine
Walking a little further 🤏🏻 is the main hall consisting of six halls dedicated to different gods 👍🏻
In addition, the shrine uses the sacred tree of Kumano's nature coexistence as a symbol of peace and disaster 😎
So there are young people like me who pray for peace🤭

[Wakayama] Mossy Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine
Kumano Nachi Taisha Shrine in the Kumano Kodo area. The grounds are in the mountains, so you have to walk quite a bit to worship there. The moss-covered stone steps strongly retain the atmosphere of the Kumano Kodo, and the journey was enjoyable.
I took a bus from Kii-Katsuura Station to Mount Nachi and walked from there, but it seems that routes that don't involve using the bus and allow you to enjoy trekking are also popular.
There are many giant trees, and in particular the Okusu tree, which you can walk through, is about 850 years old and has a dignified and mysterious feel to it.

[Wakayama] Nachi Falls
Nachi Falls is one of the three most famous waterfalls in Japan. It is very mystical, and the waterfall itself is enshrined as the object of worship at Kumano Taisha Shrine.
It is elegant even when viewed from afar, but it is truly impressive when seen up close. It cost 300 yen to climb up to the viewing platform where you can worship from the closest point, but it was good because I could take my time and see it up close.
It is accessible by bus from JR Kii-Katsuura Station. The beautiful moss-covered grounds of Kumano Taisha Shrine have many stairs, so it is essential to wear comfortable, non-slip shoes.

It's a 600m long slope with a 100m difference in elevation that leads to the sacred Mount Nachi via the Kumano Kodo, one of Japan's three great ancient roads☺️
The stone steps are lined with cedar trees over 500 years old, including the 800-year-old Meoto Sugi (Couple Cedars) at the foot of the slope, and just walking up them makes you feel at peace❤️
At the tea shop halfway up the slope, you can rent costumes from the Heian period😊
It was a pretty hard slope for me, who doesn't get enough exercise, but it was worth the climb❤️I want to go again! The stone paving is uneven, so be careful where you step to avoid sprains♪

Dragon Palace?! The powerful cave hot spring with the raging waves rushing in was amazing!

This is the hotel I stayed at in Wakayama!
It was a special space where you could experience the feeling of Urashima Taro who crossed over to Ryugu-jo Castle😍

There are too many things to see and I can't introduce them all at once, so this time I'll introduce the famous hot spring "Bokido"😄
I went in at night, but the sea was right next to the cave, and the rough waves crashing in the darkness were so intense that I was a little scared🌊
But it was an experience that can only be had here😆
The hot spring also had a strong sulfur smell and I felt warm and cozy!
If you go in during the day, you can enjoy the hot spring water while looking at the cave and the waves, so I recommend getting up early in the morning or checking in early to enjoy the hot springs❤️
Hotel Urashima has seven hot springs: "Bokido, Genbudo, Hamayu no Yu, Taki no Yu, Iso no Yu, Harumine no Yu, and a private open-air bath." All of them are hot springs from the famous Katsuura Onsen👏
You should definitely take a bath in the cave baths "Bokido" and "Genbudo"😆❣️
There's a hot spring stamp rally, and if you collect all the stamps, you can get a special bath salt from the hotel♪
I got one too😚
✽.。.:*・゚ ✽.。.:*・゚
The rooms, food, and the world's best XX were amazing, so I'll introduce them to you again next time!
