Kaohsiung, a major port city in southern Taiwan, offers a very pleasant atmosphere. For this trip, we opted for a relaxed itinerary, focusing on strolling and enjoying local food. Public transportation in Kaohsiung is quite convenient 🚆⛴️. What impressed us the most was the wide sidewalks, showcasing excellent infrastructure, though the city felt surprisingly uncrowded 😂.

Start your journey by taking a ferry from Gushan Ferry Pier to Cijin Island, which takes just a few minutes. The island has a laid-back vibe, featuring long beaches perfect for cycling and a pedestrian street filled with fresh seafood restaurants 🦀🐟.

- Regular bike: 200 TWD/day

👉 Train fares in Kaohsiung range from 20-35 TWD and accept credit cards, IC cards, and cash.
👉 Bus fare is 12 TWD for all routes. Pay cash when boarding, or tap your IC card both when boarding and alighting.

💕 Kaohsiung is an easy city to explore with convenient transportation. While it’s possible to see the city in a day, we recommend spending 2-3 days to fully immerse yourself in the local atmosphere 🏝️🚆.
