Built in 1883, the lighthouse is one of the oldest lighthouses in Taiwan and one of the landmarks of Kaohsiung City. The Kaohsiung Lighthouse stands on a small hill at an altitude of 68 meters above sea level. It was built to guide ships safely in and out of Kaohsiung Port. In addition to being able to see this lighthouse when you go up, the scenery along the road is also very beautiful The city face of Kitsu Island is highly recommended.

【Kaohsiung Attractions】Cijin Lighthouse: A Century of History, Perfect for Evening Appreciation.
The Kaohsiung Lighthouse (Cijin Qihou Lighthouse) is located on the magnificent Qihou Mountain, guarding the Kaohsiung Harbor with its dazzling white appearance. It is a symbol of the port city and the only lighthouse in Taiwan that is open for night visits.
Built in 1883 by a British engineer, the lighthouse, along with the fort, is a rare construction in Taiwan. Its century-old history has witnessed the development of Kaohsiung Harbor from ancient times to the present. It is the only white octagonal brick lighthouse in the country. The body of the lighthouse is octagonal, turning cylindrical at the top, with a balcony for a panoramic view. In front of the lighthouse, there is a Western-style white wall office displaying the instruments, photos, and location maps used by the lighthouse in the past. On the lush green lawn outside, there is also a sundial.
Even without waiting until night, the scenery before evening is still captivating. The pure white lighthouse overlooks the entire Cijin coastline, and there is even a café nearby, making it the only lighthouse attraction that offers food and beverages. The scenery here is reminiscent of Busan, South Korea.
When you come to Kaohsiung, don't forget to visit the Kaohsiung Lighthouse to admire this beautiful century-old lighthouse, overlook the entire cityscape of Kaohsiung, and experience the charm of the port city! 🌟🗼

The Stunning White Octagonal Building - Kaohsiung Lighthouse
Kaohsiung Lighthouse is located on the peak of Cihou Mountain in Cijin, Kaohsiung. It is situated at the entrance and exit of Kaohsiung Harbor, connecting to the Cihou Mountain Trail and adjacent to Cijin Old Street, Cijin Beach, and Coastal Park. It is also near the famous Xiziwan, making it a must-visit spot when exploring the Kaohsiung waterfront.
The Kaohsiung Lighthouse park features a bright and fresh white theme. The park also houses a scenic café where you can enjoy a meal while taking in the views of Cijin District.
Typically, weather vanes are marked with the English letters 'N, E, S, W,' but the weather vane atop Kaohsiung Lighthouse is uniquely marked with the Chinese characters for 'East, West, South, North,' making it quite special.
The park also has a café, making it a popular spot for social media photos. Additionally, the park has extended its opening hours, making it the first lighthouse park in the country to be open from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, allowing visitors to enjoy the night view as well!
We highly recommend taking the time to visit and explore the lighthouse park if you have the chance!

Cijin: The Oceanic Village
Yesterday, we visited Cijin in Kaohsiung. Despite the scorching heat and intense sunlight, we were able to enjoy the beautiful sea views and sunset.
We started from the pier and walked along a small coastal path, passing by the Rainbow Church, and then headed to the Sea Pearl. Here, we could admire the sea up close. The water was a clear, bright blue, sparkling under the sunlight—truly breathtaking. Next, we visited the Cijin Lighthouse. This traditional and unadorned lighthouse exudes a sense of history. Standing in front of it, we gazed out over the vast sea, watching the silhouettes of fishing boats in the distance, feeling the tranquility and harmony of nature.
At dusk, the setting sun cast layers of golden light over the sea. We were mesmerized by this enchanting scene and couldn't help but stop and admire it for a long time. The gentle sea breeze was cool and pleasant, making it feel as if all our worries and stresses had vanished in that moment.
This trip to Cijin allowed us to experience the charm of the ocean firsthand. Whether it was the rippling sea views or the historic lighthouse, everything left a deep impression on us. Enjoying the picturesque sunset with the cool sea breeze was truly an unforgettable experience. We believe that such beautiful scenery will surely become a cherished part of our memories.

The Lighthouse of Kaohsiung City
#winhkflight
Address: 80541, Taiwan, Kaohsiung City, Qijin District, No. 34.
Highlights: The Kaohsiung Lighthouse is located near the Qijin old street. The Lighthouse's scenery is spectacular. I was able to see the 360 view of Qijin Island. I enjoyed the view. Although it was pretty crowded when I visited. There will be a lot of walking around to do here. And keep in mind, the shade is not very abundant, so bring a hat or sunscreen.
There was a coffee shop, a lot of young people, and even a musician providing background music.
I would want to travel to Hong Kong to explore its expansive parks and gardens that offer a peaceful retreat from the city.
