Transportation from Ishigaki Island to Iriomote Island is very convenient. It takes about 40 minutes by ferry⛴️. There is a bus from Ishigaki Airport✈️ to Ishigaki Port. Iriomote Island has two ports, but they are far apart, so it's best to confirm which port you need to go to in advance. Uehara Port has more ferry services, but they may be cancelled in bad weather. After arriving on the island, the hotel will arrange a shuttle bus🚌 to take you to the hotel. Hoshino Resort, although the facilities are a bit old, the overall environment is very good. A buffet restaurant exclusively for guests staying at the RISONARE Kohamajima. The interior is stylish, reminiscent of red coral (although apparently it's not actually the case), and many of the dishes used are cute. The variety of food is surprisingly small, but the sweets are particularly impressive. The poolside seats on the left side of the entrance had a great view. Drinks other than those on the buffet (such as alcohol) are charged separately. A place I wanted to stay someday. Everything was great, it was the best facility with no complaints. I stayed in the Royal Suite Room, and it was the best room with a spacious living room, daybed, private pool, jacuzzi, sauna, Refa curling iron and hair iron set...everything I could wish for. In addition, the facility offers resort wear rental (and they are quite good) in the lobby, bath salt making, popsicles, and chinsuko for free, you can move around the premises on an electric kickboard after taking a simple video course, there are two pools, a place to look at the stars, and so on, so you can enjoy the hotel all day without going outside. Hoshino Resorts Iriomote Island Hotel aims to be "Japan's first ecotourism resort". You can stay here for a minimum of two nights. The room I stayed in was a deluxe twin room. It was a spacious 54 square meter room. It doesn't feel new, but it's kept clean. The terrace was also spacious, and there was a pool below. All rooms face the sea, and since it is along the beach, which is also a sea turtle nesting ground, care has been taken to prevent indoor light from reaching the sea at night. The lounge offers free drinks and snacks until around 6pm. One of the attractions is that you can enjoy latte art. To get to Kohama Island from Ishigaki Island or other remote islands, you can take a ferry. Ferries from Iriomote Island to Kohama Island and Ishigaki Island depart from Ohara Port. The ferry terminal is clean and spacious, and there are two souvenir shops. They sell stylish items, and although I saw the same ones later on Kohama Island, the prices here were far cheaper! There is also a shop called Jugon next to the terminal. There are a wide variety of souvenirs lined up. I especially noticed that there was a lot of brown sugar. The brown sugar soft serve ice cream that you can eat in was popular. Tsukigahama Beach is right in front of Hoshino Resorts Iriomote Island Hotel. It's a calm beach no matter when you look at it, and it seems safe for small children to swim there. This beach is also a spawning ground for sea turtles, so the hotel has instructed all rooms to keep the lights from reaching the beach at night and has provided curtain clips. They also offer sparkling wine service in the evening, which is great for watching the sunset with a drink in hand. You can also enjoy kayaking and SUP, so there are many other ways to have fun. Unarizaki Park Observatory is a popular tourist spot on Iriomote Island with a spectacular view. I rented a bicycle from Hoshino Resort Iriomote Island Hotel and went there. It's just the right distance for cycling, so I recommend it. The ocean directly below the observation deck is very beautiful. On the way from the parking lot to the observation deck, there was a path built by surfers that leads down to the bottom. It seems to be a good spot for surfing. The color of the ocean during the day is also very beautiful, but the sunset seen from here is also the best. I wasn't able to go at sunset this time, so I'd like to go see it again if I have the chance. The other day, when I visited Iriomote Island, I went to the long-awaited Nmamaki Yamaneko Park. Yamaneko Park is a park in the Ohara district in the eastern part of Iriomote Island, Okinawa Prefecture. It is relatively easy to get to from both Ohara Port and Uehara Port. Yamaneko Park and Nmamaki Yamaneko Park are common names, and the official name is Iriomote East Park. Nmamaki is an island word that means "a place to play horses." Island words are difficult, but I'm impressed by how deep they are. I went to Kohama Island. I stayed at the RISONARE Kohama Island. The grounds are spacious and there are two pools. It was a very sunny day and I was able to see the starry sky. This time I went from Kansai Airport to Ishigaki. From there I took a ferry⛴️. The hotel shuttle bus picked me up right after I got off the ferry, so I don't think I needed to rent a car since it's a small island. There is only one store in the town, so if you want to bring something to the hotel, it's better to buy it before you get on the ferry. #summertrip #777

Himurubushi and Hoshino Risonare are the two major tourist hotels on Kohama Island, but the port is quite crowded when the shuttle buses for these two are in operation. If you are staying at another hotel, we recommend arriving at the port a little earlier on your return. You may be in trouble if the bus is full and you cannot get on. Apparently, there are also extra buses during events and Golden Week. The toilets are surprisingly clean. I could only find about three places to eat nearby. The juice from the vending machine costs about 30 yen more than the one sold in the mainland. Hateruma Island is the southernmost point of Okinawa, and the southernmost inhabited island belonging to Japan📍 I had planned to travel there together with Yonaguni Island in 2016, but an approaching typhoon caused rough seas and I ended up not being able to go😢 3 years later, I tried again and finally landed!
