This is， without a doubt， one of Auckland’s finest hotels in my opinion. The lobby recently underwent a remodel， brilliantly capturing that subtle baroque elegance synonymous with JW Marriott hotels. Kristina， the front office manager， manages the team efficiently. From the very first step in， you notice the well-orchestrated atmosphere. The staff are welcoming， professional， and clear on their roles and the standards expected of them. Sophia at the bar truly embodies this work ethic. Unfortunately， such service isn't always consistent at higher-tier Marriott properties in the U.S.， but the service here rivals even some St. Regis and Ritz hotels I’ve visited—attentive yet not overwhelming， friendly but not overly familiar. The rooms are delightful. The beds are possibly the best I've ever slept in， with fresh and supportive pillows. The room's wood design， paired with a detailed lighting system and scenic windows， creates a warm ambiance by day that can be comfortably darkened for a good night’s sleep. These are among my favorite rooms across Marriott. Their suites are genuinely impressive and worth the price tag. The restaurant's revamped menu is fantastic， with items like smoked oysters with marrow， octopus carpaccio， and beef tartare. They aren't cheap but are definitely worth it. Dre， an American bartender， crafts incredible cocktails and exudes charm， reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy vibe. In conclusion， this JW Marriott is an excellent choice. I especially recommend it to those with higher Bonvoy status (Platinum+). Recognition of status can vary， but this JW truly respects it.
