2024/6/13 I visited Jiuxiang, which is close to the suburbs of Kunming. Departing from the downtown area of Kunming, it took a 2-hour drive by tourist bus to reach the Jiuxiang Scenic Area. There weren't many tourists in the Jiuxiang Scenic Area, where the main attractions are the underground caves, boat rides, and cable cars. There are 4-5 interconnected caves in Jiuxiang, featuring waterfalls, underground rivers, variously shaped stalactites, an underground Stone Forest landscape, and terraced fields-like landscapes called 'Shen Tian'. Walking and sightseeing through the entire cave system takes about 2 hours, and it requires some physical effort to climb up and down. However, the pathways inside the caves are well constructed, and there are several large rest areas with tables and chairs, so walking around and taking breaks as needed is not too tiring. The temperature inside the cave is pleasant, and the air in the mountains is fresh, making the whole experience very comfortable. After the visit, it is recommended to take the cable car back to the entrance of the scenic area to save energy and enjoy the aerial view of the scenery, killing two birds with one stone. #familytrips2024 We had our family trip to Yunnan recently and one of the place we visited is the Jiuxiang scenic spot, where the whole area has naturally formed staglatite and stalacmites caves, formed several millions of years ago. At first we were brought to the small valley to take a boat across a very narrow stream , and we traveled across the inner cave to witness the magnificient cave. We are also able to witness the underground waterfall gushing from the ground, and the interior of the cave is extremely huge, able to accomodate hundreds of thousands of people. This spot is also the shooting area for many movies such as The Myth and Little General Big Soldier, and it is a worthwhile opportunity to visit here.

There is a saying in Yunnan that goes, 'Above ground, visit the Stone Forest; underground, visit Jiuxiang.' Jiuxiang and the Stone Forest both belong to the karst landscape, but its beauty lies not in the forest of peaks, but in the caves. The area boasts hundreds of large and small caves, massive in scale and numerous in quantity, earning it the reputation of a 'Cave Museum' and making it one of the recommended attractions around Kunming. Hold your partner's hand and leave a memory here. ➡️Exiting the cave, you encounter the 'Divine Field.' Drip by drip, over countless long years, nature's immortal work has created the 'Divine Field.' Instantly, it takes us back to the ancient farming era, where people worked from sunrise to sunset.
