Colorful prayer flags flutter in the wind, creating a stunning and magnificent view like a fairyland. 1️⃣How to get there? ▪️Peacock Mountain is located on the Deqin-Gongshan Highway, and is only accessible by car. There are few tours available. You can drive from Deqin County, Weixi County, Gongshan County, or Bingzhongluo. You can drive directly to the foot of the mountain. I drove a sedan, which was barely passable when there was no landslide. I recommend driving an SUV or off-road vehicle. ▪️Navigate to Peacock Mountain Tunnel, and do not enter the tunnel when you reach the entrance! Take the small road next to it to go up the mountain. Or navigate to "Peacock Mountain" (the peak) on Amap. ▪️The Deqin-Gongshan Highway is not easy to drive on, and is prone to landslides during the rainy season and snow and ice in winter. ▪️I recommend driving there if it is on your way. If it is not on your way, it will take at least 6 hours to drive round-trip from any of the four places mentioned above, and there is nothing else to do nearby. Please consider carefully. 2️⃣What to do? ▪️Hiking. The hiking distance is short, about 3 km round-trip, with little elevation gain. The average altitude is about 3,800 meters, and the highest altitude is close to 4,000 meters. ▪️Camping. There are many places to camp, and many locals go there for picnics. ▪️Photography.
