The Jingang Pagoda in Guandu Town was built in the first year of tomorrow Shun (AD 1457). It was built with donations from Luo Gui, the eunuch guarding Yunnan. In the 5th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty, the upper part of the pagoda was damaged and was repaired by Luo Guozhen, the magistrate of Kunming. The Diamond Pagoda is built of sand and stone. The shape is strange and the construction work is exquisite. The Jingang Pagoda is one of the more than 10 existing Jingang Pagodas in China that was built earlier and has a long history. The base is square, with a width of 9.8 meters on each side and a height of 4.7 meters. The main tower is 17.13 meters high. The base of the diamond tower is a conch shell, and the bottom is silt, and the whole tower gradually sinks. On June 24, 2002, an overall jacking project of the soft foundation was carried out for the Diamond Tower. The project adopted advanced pipe jacking and underpinning technology and steel strand prestressed concrete technology, which solved the synchronous balance between vibration and jacking during startup. Many technical difficulties have raised the overall height of the Diamond Tower by 2.6 meters, and the current Diamond Tower is even more spectacular.
