Kunming Jin'gang Pagoda... Old Town Tour.
(1) Located in the northern square of Guandu Ancient Town, in front of Miaozhan Temple, this pagoda was built in 1458 during the Ming Dynasty, boasting a history of about 600 years. It is the only pagoda in China entirely made of sand and stone in the Vajra Throne style, consisting of a main pagoda and four smaller ones. The lower part of the pagoda has four interconnected doors, but they are currently fenced off for protection, making passage impossible. This pagoda is designated as a national key cultural relic protection unit, and a stone stele in front of the pagoda provides a detailed explanation of its history.
(2) Directions: 1) Take Metro Line 1 and get off at Xingyao Road or Erji Road Station, then walk about 1.5 km to reach the southeast gate of Guandu Ancient Town, where you can see the pagoda. Alternatively, you can use ride-sharing or bike-sharing services. 2) Enter the main pedestrian road of the ancient town through the large archway on Guangfu Road, and walk about 500 meters to reach the pagoda.
Looking at this pagoda, you can feel the weight of 600 years of history. Although it is protected, its delicate structure and the texture of the old sandstones remain beautiful. It blends with the traditional scenery of the surrounding ancient town, offering a unique walk where the past and present coexist.
