⭐ Even if you don’t stay in Ruijin Intercontinental Hotel, it is worth going to have a look around, cause this is Old Shanghai. The restaurant of this hotels is famous around the locals, but not cause it’s food, it is because of the environment.
🌆 The building of the hotel has a long history and this can be seen very obviously when you enter the territory of the hotel. The main building is quite modern, while all the rest buildings are preserved as they were many years ago. It is worth walk around after lunch or dinner in this restaurant for sure to discover the old well, over 100 years hollow trees, a blend of western and Chinese architecture.
🥢 The restaurant environment also talks about old Shanghai. But don’t have very high expectations for food, it is good, but not amazing to be honest. But even this way lunch here is very enjoyable. The environment means a lot.

This is also a place to enjoy maple leaves
This is also a place to enjoy maple leaves - Ruijin Hotel Shanghai. Ruijin Hotel is a time-honored hotel. The hotel is surrounded by green grass and beautiful scenery all year round. The large garden is full of small bridges, flowing water, birds, and flowers.
At this time of year, the place is full of bright colors, with maple leaves spreading out and showing a bright smile, and the yellow ginkgo trees are very attractive. This is also a place to enjoy maple leaves!

Hotel scenery, InterContinental Ruijin ginkgo tree king
Every year, my favorite place to take photos of ginkgo trees in the city is InterContinental Ruijin. The hotel has beautiful scenery, where you can enjoy both ginkgo and maple trees. The best part is that the place is large and spacious, so you won't feel crowded when taking photos. It's also conveniently located, so I always think of visiting when I'm near South Shaanxi Road in winter.
Recently, the weather in Shanghai hasn't been sunny, but luckily it hasn't rained. The ginkgo tree king is still as majestic as ever, tall and golden, perfect for winter photos. The red maple trees on the lawn nearby have also turned red. After taking photos, you can head to Shanghai Culture Square across the street to continue taking photos of ginkgo trees. It's all along the way.

Traveling from the mountains to downtown Shanghai, just for this century-old ginkgo tree!
Autumn in Downtown Shanghai | Century-old Ginkgo and European Style
In Shanghai's most beautiful season, you don't need to travel far to see a stunning autumn scene in the city center - the century-old ginkgo tree at the Ruijin Hotel.
Ginkgo trees are common in the south, but when they are set against European-style buildings, they have a unique charm. Ruijin Hotel, a garden villa hotel built in 1917, has a century-old English castle style. Every autumn, the old ginkgo tree in the fountain garden becomes the most dazzling gem in the hotel and the surrounding area.
This 89-year-old ginkgo tree is now in its prime. Its thick trunk is like a kind old man, opening his warm arms to protect the four directions; its drooping branches and leaves are like golden curtains, swaying gracefully in the wind, shining in the sunlight, like a magical tree full of gold coins in a fairy tale, making people yearn for it.
If you want to avoid the weekend crowds, why not take advantage of today's pleasant weather and come to see this autumn scene.
📌Tips:
1. There are ginkgo trees at both the east and west gates of Ruijin Hotel. If you have time, you can take a stroll and enjoy the scenery.
2. The ginkgo and red maple trees are now in their best viewing period, and the autumn scenery in the garden is like a painting, with a view at every step.
3. The cultural park opposite the Maoming Road gate of the hotel is also a good place to see ginkgo trees, with a forest of ginkgo trees and a sea of gold.
4. This is also the filming location of the movie "This Is Not What I Expected" starring Takeshi Kaneshiro and Zhou Dongyu, and witnessed the engagement of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling, where history and art blend.
📍Location: 207 Maoming South Road, Ruijin Hotel West Gate
🚇Transportation: Metro Line 1/10/12, South Shaanxi Road Station

As expected of a state guesthouse in Shanghai, it's so Western.
✅Most people imagine state guesthouses to be old-fashioned, but there is one in Shanghai that is a very Western-style villa - the InterContinental Ruijin, located in the heart of the city, surrounded by Sinan Mansions, Tianzifang, and Xintiandi.
✅The InterContinental Ruijin is well-known. In 1927, it was the place where Soong Mei-ling got engaged, and in 1956, it officially became one of the reception centers for the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, hosting heads of state from various countries. In 1979, it was renamed the Ruijin Hotel (one of the four major state guesthouses in Shanghai at the time). In 2013, the Ruijin Hotel partnered with InterContinental to become the InterContinental Ruijin.
✅Countless movies and TV shows have been filmed at the InterContinental Ruijin.
In the movie "This Is Not What I Expected," the story of a domineering CEO and a quirky chef takes place here. Other films include "Farewell My Concubine," "Midnight," "Temptress Moon," "My Best Friend's Story," "Tiny Times," and more.
✅The layout of the InterContinental Ruijin
1⃣️Main Building and VIP Building
Built after the Ruijin Hotel partnered with InterContinental, it officially opened in 2013. Rooms are available for booking and have a retro-chic style.
2⃣️Celebrity Mansion
Building 1, the oldest building in the hotel. Generally not available for booking. "This Is Not What I Expected" was mainly filmed in Building 1, and Takeshi Kaneshiro stayed in Suite 1123.
3⃣️Presidential Building
As the name suggests, this is where the presidential suite is located, and it is also not available for booking.
4⃣️Xinyuan Building
A Chinese restaurant specializing in Cantonese and Shanghai cuisine, this building was built in 1930.

Exploring Shanghai | InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin Hotel
| InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin Hotel. A week of work is always exhausting, 😫 and my body feels like it's filled with lead. I collapse on the sofa when I get home, my mind blank.
A huge sense of despair and helplessness fills the room. Suddenly, an idea breaks the depressing silence, "I need to find a nice hotel to relax." ✌️
🎉 So, I booked the InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin Hotel, and I instantly felt better. 😄
This hotel 🏨 is a garden in the city, with giant camphor trees standing on the lush green lawn, and a European-style fountain ⛲️ in the middle. The white cherubs 👼 on the fountain contrast with the greenery, making it even more peaceful.
I sit on a lounge chair outside and have a drink. This is a white wine I've been enjoying recently: Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc. The fresh taste lingers on my lips, and the light fruit aroma spreads in my mouth, making me feel like I'm in New Zealand's pure air and warm sunshine. My heart calms down, and I enjoy this sudden beauty. Life is like a white cloth stained with tar. Although it is washed by time, it always retains old marks. Time passes, but it is still beautiful. 💗
In the evening, I invited some girlfriends over. The seafood is our favorite thing as girls on a diet. We drank Sauvignon Blanc and chatted before the food arrived. Looking at their faces, I remembered our school days, attending classes and gossiping together. It really is "Sauvignon Blanc."
Although we can't be together often now, we still meet once a week. We listen to each other complain about work and gossip about the company. Friendships between girls start with gossip, simple and happy. 💗
Not only did we have a great chat, but we also enjoyed the seafood. This white wine definitely played a part. 💯 The rich fruit aroma paired with the seafood completely removes the fishy taste, leaving only the freshness of the seafood and the rich aroma of the wine. It's a perfect match. 💯
Sometimes, strong friendships seem light, just like this wine. It is rich at first, but as time passes, it becomes more balanced, just right. 😋
This summer, why not give your busy self a break, and go out with your best friends 👭 to enjoy this unique "Oyster Bay Sauvignon Blanc." ✨ The sense of ritual in a beautiful life is having you and "you." 😉

| InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin. A hidden gem! A hidden gem! A hidden gem! A great InterContinental, a perfect experience.
Location 📍: On Ruijin 2nd Road, about 900 meters from South Shaanxi Road Subway Station, a little far from the subway, IAPM, and Huaihai Road business district.
Room 🛏️: Booked a basic room, and the front desk upgraded it to a terrace room. The room is decorated in a retro style, the bed is a little hard, and the room is very quiet. Open the terrace door and you will see a fountain and woods, very pleasant.
Benefits 🎁: Welcome fruit, a set of aromatherapy, all the rights of the lounge, and upgraded to a terrace room.
Service 💁: The hotel is divided into the main building and the VIP building, and there is a free shuttle bus between the two buildings. The concierge service is also very enthusiastic.
Lounge 🍹: The hotel lounge is eye-catching, luxurious, and decorated in a European style. You can have breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner in the lounge, and the environment is great. There are still many people at mealtime, and you may encounter a situation where there are no seats. The taste of the lounge food is good, and the variety is also very rich.
Public area 🏋️: The hotel's gym and swimming pool are on the B1 floor, and both are not large. The grass, fountains, and trees of the entire hotel are very pleasant, like a manor.

Autumn Trip | Wutong Road.
Shanghai's autumn is about to reach its most beautiful moment!
The rustling of fallen plane tree leaves and the golden ginkgo road in the light and shadow, here are two routes suitable for autumn photography~
Plane tree leaf route: Tai'an Road - Xingguo Road - Hunan Road - Gaoyou Road - Fuxing West Road - Yongfu Road - Hunan Road
1️⃣ Hunan Road: The most beautiful road in the leaf-falling season, I go there every year when the plane trees turn yellow. It intersects with Yongfu Road, Wukang Road, Gaoyou Road, and Xingguo Road.
2️⃣ Xingguo Road: Adjacent to Wukang Road, connecting Tai'an Road and Hunan Road, the light and shadow are beautiful, and there are few people, making it easy to take photos~
3️⃣ Fuxing West Road: There are many excellent historical buildings along the road, and Hengfu Style Museum and Ke Ling's Former Residence are worth visiting!
4️⃣ Yongfu Road: This short road connects Hunan Road and Wuyuan Road, and is often covered with fallen leaves, making it perfect for photos during the leaf-falling season~
🍂 Ginkgo route: Bridge 8 Phase 3 on Jumen Road (No. 550 Jumen Road) - Intersection of Wulibao Road and Jumen Road - Shanghai Concert Hall (Jinling Middle Road and Longmen Road) - FOUND158 (No. 158 Julu Road) - Ruijin Hotel
Every ginkgo season, the entire Jumen Road is covered with golden ginkgo leaves. You can ride to the Shanghai Concert Hall and FOUND158, and the century-old ginkgo tree at Ruijin Hotel is also a great place to take photos during the ginkgo season in Shanghai~

InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin.
I usually choose some old and historic hotels in Shanghai. I chose InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin in Huangpu District, which was a red brick building in the French Concession during the Republic of China period. It is said that it was the hotel where Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling got engaged. I didn't check whether it was true or not, but I believed it because the road was in line with Soong Mei-ling's aesthetics. The plane trees she loved were planted along the road, adding a lot of romance to the marriage. The hotel was also the prototype of the Xing'anli Garden Hotel in "Chenghuanji". I stayed in Building 3. The room was not high and was decorated in the old Shanghai style. It was not as bright as the new five-star hotels. This was inevitable because it was old. It was clean and comfortable, which was a must. The hotel staff were polite and reserved. The main building was the check-in hall. There was a lady playing the piano in the hall. The magnificent hall was next to a lobby bar and a restaurant. They were all decorated in the old Shanghai style and were very elegant. The VIP building of the hotel had a gym and a swimming pool. The swimming pool was very clean and there were not many people. The gym was also well-equipped. People who like fitness must go and experience it. The hotel's breakfast was mostly Western style. There were various kinds of bread and cheese. The ingredients were very good. In the evening, you can walk out of the hotel and walk along Fumin Road, Changle Road, and Huaihai Road. There was a little wind in the summer night. Everyone would come out for a walk. The small shops were also well decorated. There were exquisite ice cream shops opened by Shanghai uncles and jewelry shops opened by young ladies!

The hotel where Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling got engaged! A true oasis in the city!
I've heard of the Ruijin InterContinental for a long time. There are many InterContinental hotels in Shanghai, most of which have mixed reviews. This is the only one with such a high rating. To experience its charm, I came here immediately after visiting the Peace Hotel. As a historic building, the Ruijin Hotel is less famous than the Peace Hotel, but this also allows it to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the crowd and realize my dream of vacationing in the city.
Brief review of each item
Location: The hotel is on Ruijin Second Road, which should be a prime location in Huangpu District. It is adjacent to the Huaihai Road business district. The famous business districts nearby are Tianzifang and Xintiandi. Ruijin Hospital is also nearby and can be reached on foot. The location is excellent.
Check-in and check-out: There were quite a few people in line at the front desk that day, and there were still many people waiting at the front desk when I passed by the main building late at night. The occupancy rate was quite high. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait for a room that day. I checked in directly with the room card when it was my turn. The check-in process was very fast. You can check out by returning the room card.
Membership benefits: As a Diamond Ambassador member, I booked a basic room and was upgraded to a Deluxe Room in the VIP Building, which is an executive room type. There are welcome drink coupons and welcome fruit. It is worth mentioning that the welcome drink coupon can be used to exchange for coffee in the main building.
Facilities and services: I stayed in the VIP Building this time. Even the first floor is very quiet. The room has no smell. The facilities are not particularly old. The hardware is fine. The essence of the hotel is in the public area. The courtyard outside the window is pleasant. Each building has its own characteristics. If you stay in the room for a long time, you can go out for a walk. This is my ideal city vacation life. I just took a walk too much and didn't have the mood to go to the gym and swimming pool to see and take pictures. I only took some outdoor photos. I didn't encounter any problems with the service.
Dining: The breakfast is quite good. There are many special snacks and Eggs Benedict. The standard is quite high. I didn't go to the lounge, so I can't comment on it.
Cleanliness and hygiene: No problem.
Additional consumption: None this time.
Cost performance: There should be no competitors in the price range of more than a thousand. The appearance alone crushes a group of high-priced business hotels. If you want to stay nearby and have enough budget, I suggest you come and experience it. The cost performance is extremely high.

Shanghai Ruijin Intercontinental Hotel, a great place for weddings
Worth a separate mention
Ruijin Intercontinental Hotel has a great location, you can walk to Sinan Mansion, and there's a theater opposite where you can watch plays. Wukang Road is also very convenient. I chose it for the convenience of work.
There is a garden accessible only to hotel guests, where you can see the place where Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling got engaged. The staff said that the Celebrity Hall is where Chen Yi reported the liberation of Shanghai to Chairman Mao over the phone. It is now a filming location for Chenghuan Ji and Fengyue, with a movie library and many vinyl records.
The executive lounge exceeded expectations, filled with an old money vibe, truly a place where dignitaries from various countries stay. The presidential suite next door feels mysterious and grand. The garden has a British feel, likely designed a hundred years ago with hopes of openness and inclusivity.
The breakfast is also good, with a sense of quality. There is an internet-famous garden, which is a pitfall, with a cheap plastic feel that shouldn't be here... Overall, it's good, and I would choose it again.

The hotels in the center of Shanghai are as beautiful as European manors
The hotels in the center of Shanghai are as beautiful as European manors.
Taking the kids to Shanghai for fun, I thought I'd just randomly pick a hotel on the map that was a bit closer to his dad's company. This time choosing a hotel was really a blind choice, but it was as lucky as getting a limited edition blind box! It's one of the few hotels I've stayed in that I highly recommend, even during the May Day period there weren't many people, and there's a big lawn for walking the kids (this lawn is used for outdoor weddings), and you can step on it at will!
Hotel: InterContinental Shanghai Ruijin, the lobby for check-in is in a building in the yard, and if you take a taxi you can enter the yard and get off directly at the hotel entrance, but if you stop at the entrance of the yard you still have to walk a bit.
Dining: There is a buffet as well as independent restaurants, the restaurant is also super popular online with a courtyard style, called Xin Yuan Lou, right next to the building where you check in, but we missed lunch because the kid overslept for his nap that day. Later we went to the buffet in the lobby (picture 11), there are a lot of types of food, and the taste is also very nice, it's quite suitable for kids, and many can eat.
Room: The room decoration is very rustic, the bed is two meters wide, and it's very spacious for a family of three. It's just that the equipment is a bit old, the TV can't cast screen, you can only watch TV station programs. The one we stayed in is the VIP building's deluxe room, priced at 2000+
Service: The response speed is relatively fast, there are several buildings inside that are not tall, there is a small ferry car in the park, you can book in advance if you need to move luggage. Express delivery is very convenient, because the hotel is all small two or three-story buildings, it's very convenient to go directly to the entrance to pick up the express.

Regardless of the Labor Day holiday or not, this hotel in Shanghai is the one to go for
Ruijin InterContinental
It is said that it was formerly the Ruijin Guest House before InterContinental took over.
Located on Ruijin Second Road, it's convenient to go anywhere, offering a tranquil environment amidst the hustle and bustle.
The hotel itself has a large lawn and flowers, making it an excellent place for a city walk.
Not much is said about its history here; let's just talk about the hotel.
The hotel buildings available for booking on the platform at the moment are buildings 1, 2, and 3.
The main building is the tall one where check-in is conducted.
The VIP building is the shorter one, which also has the executive lounge.
Avoid building 3 (it is said to be relatively secluded).
If you book the VIP building, there will be a shuttle to take you there; the VIP building has its own restaurant.
You can dine there in the morning and evening, although the food is relatively simple; it has its own executive lounge with an old Shanghai flavor, a nice spot for a little rest.
The environment inside, with its large lawn and garden (although there are also fake flowers, but that's not important), should be very good in the precious land of Shanghai.
The VIP building has two floors; the first floor has the executive lounge and guest rooms with small balconies.
The balconies of the second-floor rooms are a bit smaller, but you can open the door to bask in the sun and enjoy the view (fountain, garden) and listen to the birds singing.
There is also a fake flower fountain inside, which is a popular photo spot on social media; it recently became famous because actress Guli Nazha had a photoshoot there.
If you don't mind the newness of the hotel and are interested in its historical and cultural background, and if you like the old Shanghai style, it is worth trying to stay at Ruijin InterContinental. It comes highly recommended.

The beautiful gardens in Shanghai are like wishing wells from fairy tales
Besides the Gongqing Forest Park, there is also a free "Monet Garden" right inside the Ruijin Intercontinental Hotel. Although it's all man-made scenery, it doesn't affect the photogenic quality at all. Shanghai's romance truly is everywhere!
I went there with my girlfriends in the afternoon, and it wasn't very crowded. We encountered some advertising shoots, and also some girls dressed in Lolita style, which really matched the scenery! The recently popular TV series "Cheng Huan Ji" also shot scenes here!
📍Detailed address: No. 118 Ruijin Second Road
🚉Transportation strategy: Walk 900 meters from Exit 4 of South Shaanxi Road
Tickets: Free
⏳Playing time: 2-4 hours
📝Note tips: You can bring your own reflector, as the light inside the flower lanes can be quite dim. Girls can wear pretty little dresses (white is best), cocktail dresses, small wedding dresses... all are very photogenic

The InterContinental Shanghai, a century-old legend at the heart of the Magic City, offers refined elegance perfect for business travel
The Ruijin InterContinental Hotel in Shanghai, located in the city center, is a historic and cultural classical building in Shanghai. The hotel boasts British-style classical garden villas and spacious garden lawns in the heart of the city, and it comes highly recommended. Adjacent to the Huaihai Road shopping district and opposite the Shanghai Ruijin Hospital, it offers a tranquil retreat amidst the hustle and bustle. Each building and landscape within the hotel holds unforgettable historical memories, making it a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements, an exemplary work of art.
📕 Its predecessor was the Ruijin Guest House, consisting of several old western-style buildings, including the Celebrity Mansion, Presidential Building, VIP Building, and Xinyuan Building...
As part of the InterContinental Hotels Group, InterContinental members can also accumulate stay days. I arrived at the hotel very late on Saturday afternoon. Due to some large events that day, the front desk staff told me that my reserved room type was unavailable and arranged an upgrade for me. I was taken to the exclusive king room in Building 3, the VIP Building. Upon entering the room, I found the design and decor to be noble and elegant, making for a truly enjoyable stay.
Since the hotel is styled as a classical garden villa, each building is a standalone structure. The main building, where the front desk is located, is nestled in the back next to the Xinyuan Building (Chinese restaurant). After checking in, staff at the entrance will help with luggage and drive you to your accommodation floor. It took me over ten minutes to walk to Building 3, the VIP Building. Near the entrance of the VIP Building, staff will assist with registration, which is very convenient. My room was on the second floor, and opening the balcony door revealed a garden filled with blooming white flowers, a truly beautiful sight. In the evening, you can tour the hotel's lobby and corridors, where many old photographs are on display. Remember to check out the main building where you check in; it contains a cinematic record of past movies filmed on location 🎬. Breakfast is also served in the Langlu Restaurant on the first floor of the main building.
During the day, I suggest getting up a bit earlier to take a walk on the garden lawn or explore the different buildings. Both day and night offer distinct experiences and views.

Ruijin Hotel in Shanghai
The TV series "Chenghuan Ji" that is currently being broadcast features "Xing'an Li," which is filmed at the Ruijin Hotel located at No. 118 Ruijin Second Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai.
Ruijin Hotel was once one of the four major hotels in Shanghai and was very mysterious to the general public before it opened to the outside world. Ruijin Hotel, with its classic buildings that bear the rings of the years, is also a witness to legendary history. In 1927, it was the engagement site of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling; after the founding of the People's Republic of China, it became one of the Shanghai Municipal Committee's guesthouses; in 1956, it was also the office location of Chen Yi, the first mayor of Shanghai.
Ruijin Hotel opened in 1985 and was renovated in 2004. The hotel is a garden villa-style hotel with elegant architecture and a beautiful environment. Each villa has spacious and bright living rooms, dining rooms, conference halls, etc., decorated with exquisitely carved antiques with national characteristics, appearing luxurious and elegant. The Woyin Building and Qisi Building also have karaoke, cafes, and dance halls. In addition, each villa has guest rooms that are spacious and comfortable, equipped with complete sets of Chinese and Western furniture, and marble-laid washrooms, making it an ideal place for guests to travel, do business, hold meetings, and vacation. Having served as a state guesthouse, it has hosted international dignitaries such as Prince William.
Especially in the late autumn, the Ruijin Hotel, with its classic buildings in the garden, tall camphor trees, gorgeous red maples, and golden ginkgo trees, complement each other and attract many citizens and tourists to come and check in, experiencing the charm of autumn.

Shanghai Ruijin InterContinental Hotel Shanghai Ruijin InterContinental Hotel
Although the facilities of this hotel are a bit old, young people might care, but parents probably won't mind; and the price is not very expensive, the overall style is quite quaint, without a luxurious feel.
It has a very old Shanghai charm. European architecture, large lawns, an excellent location, and because it was once a mansion, there are many different locations of houses (such as former banquet halls) that are now part of the hotel, turning the entire hotel into a large estate. Walking around inside, you can really feel the upper-class vibe of old Shanghai.
With a history of a hundred years, it has also witnessed the changes of the Shanghai Bund, and it has a sense of story.

A must-stay hotel in downtown Shanghai, a century-old British-style garden villa
A must-stay hotel in downtown Shanghai, a century-old British-style garden villa
The Intercontinental Shanghai Ruijin, known as the 'Monet Garden' British-style garden villa hidden in the heart of Shanghai, is the place where Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling got engaged. Every building and landscape in the hotel holds precious historical memories.
The Intercontinental Shanghai Ruijin is definitely on the list. The most noteworthy thing about the hotel is the environment, followed by the service. Arrived early without a room, sent a coffee coupon during the waiting for cleaning, let me wait in the coffee shop.

I think the bookshelf in this hotel is more impressive than the rooms
I used to think that the Ruijin Intercontinental was old, but looking at the photos, I really think it's a hotel with old money style, with such a large garden area, and the rooms are hidden in different independent buildings.
The room is very large, with Shanghai style, and the garden is right outside the window.
The bookshelf area is a public area, the space is not oppressive, very comfortable, isn't this where the sense of luxury comes from? If the study at home looks like this, it wouldn't be a problem to sleep in the study.
The downside is that there are quite a few entrances to the hotel, so pay more attention, otherwise you'll be going around in circles in the hotel, although there is a shuttle bus, it depends on your luck.

Hidden in the city: Ruijin Hotel in Shanghai
The Ruijin Hotel covers an area of about 80 acres, starting from Ruijin Second Road in the east, to Maoming South Road in the west, from Yongjia Road in the south, to Fuxing Middle Road in the north, occupying an entire block.
Ruijin Hotel was built in 1926 and was the garden of the son of British adventurer and horse racing club chairman Maurice. It is composed of unique European-style villas, and what complements it is the small bridges and flowing water, grape corridors and green water and grass.
The architectural style of Ruijin Hotel is classical, the layout is grand, the corners are decorated with corner stones, the contrast of color and texture of red bricks and stone materials makes the exterior wall look simple and elegant, the two sides are slightly symmetrical, and the Chinese stone lions in front of the door are majestic, adding a touch of traditional Chinese characteristics to the hotel.
In the early 1920s, this was the garden of Maurice Benjamin, the son of British adventurer and horse racing club director Maurice.
The Maurice Garden Residence covers an area of about 77,212 square meters and a building area of 9,855 square meters. It is composed of 4 elegant and chic garden residences with different styles, distributed in the large garden with green grass and towering ancient trees. The residence is surrounded by precious flowers, and the garden has pavilions, rockeries, small bridges and flowing water, and the scenery is pleasant in all seasons.
When entering the garden from the east gate, the first thing that comes into view is a main building (Building 1) and an auxiliary building (Building 2). These two buildings are connected into one, and the building plane forms an 'L' shape, which is both changeable and harmonious. This mansion has a British classical architectural style, was built in 1917, has a building area of 1,335 square meters, and was designed by Maurice's foreign firm. Although it is a 2-story residential building with brick and wood structure, its architectural layout is grand, with red brick and clear water walls, corner stones are set at the corners, and the contrast of color and texture of red bricks and stone materials makes the exterior wall simple and beautiful. The two sides are slightly symmetrical. The pair of Chinese stone lions in front of the door are majestic. The second floor has a spacious open-air balcony, flat-arched wooden windows, and a steeply sloped four-slope roof. The roof is covered with red tiles. The unique fireplace chimney on the side of the gable extends out of the roof in groups of three and two.
At present, Ruijin Hotel, together with Xijiao Hotel, Hongqiao Guest House, Xingguo Hotel, and Donghu Hotel, is affiliated to Donghu Group. The 4th building of Ruijin Hotel has become a Sino-foreign joint venture Indian restaurant, and a unique coffee bar has been opened in the southern part of the ground floor of Building 1.
On weekends, the large lawn in front of the coffee bar has become the first choice for young people's wedding photography. Recently, the hotel has also launched 200 kinds of dim sum with the brand of model worker Aunt Gong, which is famous all over the world, and many domestic and foreign media have reported it one after another.
Foreign travel agencies also use Ruijin Hotel as a special tourist attraction in Shanghai, which has increased its popularity. A guest house that originally relied on state financial subsidies has now also become a profit maker.

In Ruijin, there is a charm called graceful ginkgo
In the Ruijin Intercontinental Hotel in the center of Shanghai, there is a century-old ginkgo tree. The tree trunk is tall and straight, and the lush branches and leaves are intertwined, forming a natural tree-lined corridor. The sun is sprinkling golden light, giving people a sense of interlacing light and shadow. Walking on the golden ginkgo leaves is like stepping on a thick carpet. The rustling autumn wind blows through the ginkgo tree, the leaves fall in a colorful way, making people can't help but sigh that this scene should only be in Ruijin, how many times can life see.
