In the 27-meter-high glass-domed lobby, crystal chandeliers hang down like coral, and the "shell house" front desk is super artistic. This review is about the latter. 1) Location: The hotel is situated on the south island of Dishui Lake, boasting a 120-degree lake view, with the Gemini Towers “Double 11” fully in sight, definitely the top lakeside spot. The hotel’s infinity pool is the best place to watch the fireworks show every Saturday. The hotel is about 2.5 km (35-minute walk) from Dishui Lake Metro Station on Line 16, about 2.5 km (40-minute walk) from the China Maritime Museum, and about 4 km (1-hour walk) from the Shanghai Planetarium. 2) Environment: The hotel is composed of five petal-shaped sections (A, B, C, D, E), with 281 rooms distributed among the five “petals.” This stay was in a themed room on the first floor of section C. 3) Facilities: The themed room is located in (my personal opinion) the best petal! My first trip of the New Year was to the InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland. I checked into the Astronomy-themed room, which I'd been eyeing for a long time. I used the Leyou Shanghai coupons and Pudong coupons for this stay, and ended up paying around 1,930 out of pocket, which I thought was quite a good deal. This InterContinental has been renovated, and the hardware facilities are generally very good. The most surprising thing was that the room had underfloor heating, which was very warm. The mattress was moderately firm, but still a bit small. My child is six years old, and the three of us could barely squeeze in. The soundproofing was good, and it was very quiet at night. The amenities were also generous. Knowing that we had a child with us, they put a set of Little Yellow Duck children's products in the room, and also gave us two pairs of children's slippers and a set of children's toiletries. The Astronomy-themed rooms are all on the first floor in Area C. As soon as we entered the door, we found a huge Lego wall, and my child was overjoyed and played there for a long time. This time I took my kids to the InterContinental Hotel Dishui Lake. The experience was mixed, but overall it was worth it. We stayed in a camping theme room, and the kids were so excited when they walked in.
