Stayed at a hidden gem hotel in Jinan! So comfortable
Jinan Fuli Hyatt Hotel: A cost-effective choice in the Spring City
1. Location and Public Areas
The hotel is located in Jinan’s old city district. The surrounding roads are a bit narrow, making driving there somewhat challenging but still manageable. I heard there is an underground parking lot, but I couldn’t find it, so I parked above ground. The security guard was very friendly, helping to find a parking spot and assist with reversing. The hotel used to be part of the Wanda group but later rebranded. The public area style strongly reflects Wanda’s aesthetic, aiming for a luxurious and grand atmosphere. Behind the front desk is a huge rock slab backdrop wall, full of Wanda’s design taste. The guest room floors feel a bit dated, possibly due to dust or old carpets. However, the overall maintenance of the public areas is decent and meets basic needs.
2. 🧹 Soundproofing / Cleanliness
The cleanliness of the guest rooms is good, with tidy beds and no unpleasant odors in the bathrooms, which are cleaned quite thoroughly. Although the guest room floors feel somewhat old, it doesn’t affect the hygiene conditions, making the stay comfortable and reassuring. The soundproofing is also quite good; at night, you can hardly hear any outside noise.
3. 🏘️ Room Type / Layout
As a Globalist member, the hotel generously upgraded me to a Hyatt Suite. I heard Globalist members usually start with suites, and above the Hyatt Suite, there is an Executive Suite that is about 10 square meters larger (upgraded from over 70 sqm to over 80 sqm). High-tier members also have a chance to stay there, but the Executive Suites were fully booked that day. The suite layout is traditional, a corner room with windows on two sides, providing excellent natural light. The living room includes a guest bathroom and a desk, convenient for work and receiving guests; the bedroom connects to a walk-in closet and master bathroom, offering spaciousness. The overall decor style is mature and steady, which is satisfying considering the hotel’s age and price point. On the desk, there was a sightseeing guide to Jinan’s old city ancient architecture, which is very thoughtful for tourists; the bathroom screen features poetry by Li Qingzhao, reflecting Jinan’s local culture, as both Daming Lake and Baotu Spring have memorial halls related to Li Qingzhao.
4. 🛌 Amenities / Facilities
The guest room facilities are quite complete, meeting daily living needs. Although the style isn’t particularly modern or trendy, it is practical. The bedding is comfortable, providing a solid sleep experience. The bathroom toiletries are of good quality, with a certain brand feel. The downside is that the guest room floors and some facilities show signs of aging, but they are still within normal use and do not affect the overall experience. The hotel’s public facilities, such as the gym and swimming pool, are also well-equipped. While nothing is particularly impressive, they meet basic leisure and exercise needs.
5. 💰 Average Cost
The average cost per person varies depending on room type and time of stay. Among hotels of the same grade, the price is quite affordable, around 300 RMB per person, offering high cost performance.
6. 💗 Other Tips
1. Breakfast is one of the highlights of this hotel. The variety is rich, including hot dishes, porridge, noodles, desserts, fruits, and local specialties like lamb offal soup, braised pork, Shanghe tofu pudding, and Jinan sweet mo. The quality of regular dishes is above average, and although the taste of specialty dishes varies by person, you can feel the hotel’s care in food preparation. The staff are enthusiastic, for example, freshly made waffles are served to guests, enhancing the experience.
2. Convenient Location: The hotel is excellently located in the city center, at the junction of the charming old city and the vibrant new city. To the east, it is close to Quancheng Road, Hang Lung, Guihe, and Yinzuo shopping districts; to the west, it borders the Ronghui century-old commercial street district. It’s about a 5-minute drive to Baotu Spring and around 10 minutes to Daming Lake, Qianfoshan, Furong Street, and Kuanhouli, making dining, shopping, and entertainment very convenient.
3. Service Attitude: From check-in to check-out, the overall service attitude is good. The security guard was warm and helpful with parking, the front desk handled check-in efficiently, and the service center responded promptly to solve guest issues. However, some service details could be improved, such as clearer signage on the guest room floors.
4. Surrounding Parking: Although finding the underground parking was a bit difficult, above-ground parking was fairly convenient, with active assistance from security. Next time, I’ll check the parking lot location in advance for a smoother experience.
There aren’t many hotel options in Jinan. This Jinan Fuli Hyatt Hotel offers stable benefits for high-tier members, a rich breakfast, and great value for money. It is very competitive among hotels in the same price range and a quality choice for a temporary stay, earning an overall score of 7 out of 10. Next time, I might try the Kempinski Jinan, but this stay at the Hyatt was quite satisfying.
