[Teshima] A unique art experience where you can encounter the "sounds of life" from all over the world: "Archive of Heartbeats"
🎧 Heartbeat Archives (Les Archives du Cœur)
"Listening to the heartbeat" -- I never thought such a simple act would touch my heart so deeply.
The Heartbeat Archives, created by artist Christian Boltanski, is a project to record and preserve the "heartbeats" of people all over the world.
Visitors can also record their own heartbeats and leave them for the future.
In the exhibition space, someone's heartbeat reverberates from speakers in a dark room, and the vibrations are transmitted directly to your body.
Proof of life, proof that you were alive... In a very quiet space, you can have a mysterious experience of connecting with the "rhythm of life" of yourself and others.
It seems that some people come to listen to archived heartbeats and find proof of the life of their loved ones who have passed away.
It was quite emotional, so it may be a little painful to visit when you are mentally weak.
But I want everyone to visit at least once, and I would like to go again next time with my husband.
