This is an absoutlly delicious food expericne in kyoto. I would recommed trying the premium cuts. We visited twice and ordered the wagyu gyukatsu set and the sirloin gyakatsu to try and taste the difference both trurned out to be imprasiv. But there was a clear winner, the wagyu was so tender and full of flavor.
I love the idea of different dipping sauces. It makes the process so exciting. They have cooking instructions and if you follow the "How to enjoy a good GYUKATSU" instrucrions placed on the table you are going to get it right. The sauces, spices and sides were all explained to us before eating, by our very kind and professional server.
We paired the food with a yebisu and another time with Matcha Beer and the Kyoto Highball, which are all worth a try especially if you enjoy beer or whisky. This is one of my favourite food experiences in kyoto and I recommend visiting it at least once to decide for yourself.
