Pine trees line both sides of the road and in front of them are Buddha statues in different poses. If you climb up while taking in each one, it takes quite some time. The Maitreya Buddha is so big that it makes your mouth drop open even when you look at it from afar, and the surrounding scenery is also beautiful. If you are lucky, you can sit on a bench like me and meet a deer. (Gwaneumsa hot place~) If you have time, there is a path to Nahanjeon on the left side of the Maitreya Buddha. It is a bit steep, but I recommend you climb up. The view of Jeju City from Nahanjeon is also worth seeing. Even if you are not a Buddhist, Gwaneumsa Temple, a beautiful and quiet temple located at the foot of Hallasan Mountain, is a place where you can heal yourself and enjoy a different experience from the crowded famous tourist attractions.
