It's a shame that you can't get very close in the winter when there is snow, probably because it's dangerous. If you get too close, the water spray is amazing. The road to the waterfall is also covered in frozen snow and is slippery, so I recommend wearing studded shoes. Here are my recommendations for a 4 day visit to Reykjavik: 1️⃣ Waterfall Hunting Gullfoss Waterfall and Skógafoss Waterfall are two of the most spectacular waterfalls I’ve ever seen and both are in close proximity to Reykjavik. Gullfoss is the larger of the two and the sheer force of the water here is heart stopping. Another popular waterfall is Seljalandsfoss. Here, you’ll be able to walk behind the cascading water to take some cool photos! 2️⃣ Geyser Geothermal Area Drive through the dramatic volcanic landscape before reaching the Geyser Geothermal Area. Bring your camera and set up close to Strokkur as this geyser erupts approximately every ten minutes. 3️⃣ Kerið Crater Walk around a volcanic caldera before walking down to the aquamarine waters of the lake below. The landscape is beautiful as the red rock of the caldera contrast with the lake water and surrounding greenery. I went to Solheimajökull. It is located along Route 1 in Iceland. It is about a 3-hour drive from Reykjavik Airport. There is no entrance fee, but parking is about 1,000 yen per car. This has become my favorite glacier in Iceland. After all, it is the closest place to the glacier. It takes 10 minutes to walk from the parking lot to the observation deck, and then another 20 minutes to walk to the glacier, where you can walk a little on the glacier. No matter the weather, it has its charm. Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach - The waves, as if alive, rush onto the black sand beach regardless of anything, eventually dissipating into white foam. A sense of fate, here it comes. I thought by the end of February it would be summer, but upon arrival, I found that most areas are still in winter. One can imagine how vibrant the summer here must be. Skogafoss Waterfall - It's stunning. The grandeur of the waterfall and the scattered spray are overwhelming. Humans are so insignificant in front of nature. Climbing over 500 steps to the top of the waterfall, the misty mountains are shrouded, like a fairyland. Believe me, the view from the top is really worth the effort. Seljalandsfoss and Gljufrabui Waterfalls - One can go behind the waterfall for a full view, the other requires stepping on stones in a stream to enter a crevice to see it. The experience of viewing both waterfalls is quite good, but be sure to have full waterproof protection! Gullfoss Waterfall - Already dressed in its winter attire, the wind at Gullfoss is strong. The weather was better on the first day, and it was very photogenic. Thingvellir National Park - A place that has witnessed the history of Iceland. The scenery is pretty good, and there's a small waterfall. Haukadalur Geysir - The geothermal water eruption is still quite magical. The intervals between eruptions are not so regular, and everyone silently holds their phones by the spring, like devout believers, just to capture the moment of eruption. The adorable Icelandic horses, with their long hair and very gentle nature, must say these three have been well-fed by tourists. The two days with the Nice travel group were quite happy.
