Turpan: Grape Valley
It takes 10 minutes to get from the hotel to Grape Valley. The grape-themed park along the way is beautiful. After a brief visit yesterday, I entered Grape Valley again. I recited the text and got a free ticket (the event ends on December 31, 2024). Then I bought a ticket for the electric car and started a deep tour. The grapes on the racks in Grape Valley are almost raisins, but the temperature is suitable. I always think that a 5A scenic spot is a must-see. I went to Frog Lane again to taste meat skewers and strolled under the grape racks again. After playing for about 3–4 hours, I took a taxi to Turpan Museum for CNY 20. After visiting for half an hour, I walked from the museum to Haierbag for dinner (the restaurant environment is good), and then took a taxi to the airport, ending my three-day trip to two cities.

The Grape Valley, a summer resort under the Flaming Mountain.
The Grape Valley, one of the most famous attractions in Xinjiang, is located 11 kilometers northeast of Turpan City, near the Flaming Mountain. It is 7 kilometers long and 2 kilometers wide at its widest point. It is a fold in the front of the southern slope of the Bogda Peak of the Tianshan Mountains and is formed by the Flaming Mountain fault zone and river erosion. The Buyiruk River (People's Canal) passes through the valley, and the trees are lush, the air is humid, and the climate is cool and pleasant, which contrasts with the Flaming Mountain. The valley is full of vineyards, named after the abundant grapes. The local Uighurs call it "Buyiruk", which means "a place with many good grapes". The Grape Valley is arranged from north to south in the Grape Valley Amusement Park, Wang Luobin Music Art Museum, Dawazi Folk Customs Park, Awati Amusement Park, and Vineyard. We took the sightseeing car in the scenic area, and the first stop, Frog Lane (Uighur Farmhouse), and the second stop, Dawazi (tightrope walking performance and the world's largest naan pit), did not get off the car (to ensure the play time of the Flaming Mountain) and went directly to the vineyard. Walking in the Grape Valley, the tall poplar forest is shaded by the sun, a clear stream runs through it, and there is a water park, carved beams and painted boats, small bridges and corridors; the grape corridors on both sides of the stream, the vines are layered, and the green is green; The sun of the Flaming Mountain passed through the dense grape leaves, and the golden light spots were scattered under the grape rack. Although it was not in the ocean of bunches of grapes (unfortunately, the grapes were not ripe when I went there), this cool and humid oasis was comfortable and cozy enough (just struggling out of the heat wave of the Jiaohe Ancient City). There are not many attractions in the Grape Valley, mainly 1. The three bright red characters "Grape Valley" on the stele at the end of the grape corridor; 2. The waterfall that has been flying for many years, which is respected by the local people as "Thousand Eyes Lake"; 3. A pair of beautiful, symbolizing the local Uighur family The happy life of the 200-year-old couple tree. The roots of these two old mulberry trees are tightly entwined, and they bear fruit every year, and the dense shade blocks the sun; 4. Wang Luobin Memorial Hall, feel the years of notes left by the Western King Wang Luobin. Mr. Wang Luobin once experienced life in Turpan and wrote many handed down music masterpieces. The people of Turpan love this old man and love the popular songs of the old man.

The oasis in the Turpan desert, the same Grape Valley as Afanti|On the road trip
To say something that reveals my age, I watched the Afanti cartoon when I was a child. Maybe today's kids don't even know Avatar.
When I watched Afanti back then, I was fascinated by two things: Afanti's wisdom and how beautiful Turpan was, and the grapes must be delicious.
A few years ago, I finally had the opportunity to go on a business trip to Turpan and visit Grape Valley. I was slightly disappointed, maybe because my expectations were too high.
🌈 Scenic Features:
Grape Valley is an oasis in the middle of the Turpan desert. The show 'Where Are We Going, Dad?' was also filmed here, so some homestays have signs saying 'Filming Location' or 'Accommodation Point'.
I don't really like this feeling. Although such endorsements can indeed quickly increase fame, the quality of the place itself is the most important.
You must try the grapes in Grape Valley. I don't know how they differ from grapes in other parts of Turpan, but the grapes here are indeed sweet. Not eating grapes is almost equivalent to not visiting Grape Valley.
🎟️ Ticket Information:
60 RMB/person
🕐️ Opening Hours:
10:00-18:30
💗 Other Tips:
There are many homestays here, and you can choose to stay overnight. We did not stay.
Turpan is really sunny, so make sure to protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen and physical sun protection. Whether you get tanned is secondary; the main thing is not to get sunburned.
If you are driving, don't skimp on fuel money, keep the air conditioning on full blast. Of course, the high temperature is also a test for the vehicle, otherwise, so many cars wouldn't come to Turpan every year for high-temperature testing.

First Time Picking Grapes
"Journey to Grape Valley: Dreams Come True"
In my son's Chinese textbook, Grape Valley is like a dazzling pearl, exuding enchanting charm. The vivid descriptions filled my son with endless longing for this mysterious and fertile land. So, taking advantage of the leisure time during the summer vacation, our family decided to embark on this month-long journey to personally experience the unique charm of Grape Valley.
As we gradually approached this dreamland, even before entering the scenic area, the sights along the roadside amazed us. Rows of grape trellises and houses for drying raisins lined up as if warmly welcoming visitors from afar. Entering the Grape Valley scenic area felt like stepping into a sea of grapes, with trellises laden with grapes everywhere in sight. Even the homestay we stayed in was adorned with grape trellises, with clusters of crystal-clear, plump, and tempting grapes seemingly telling us about the richness and hospitality of this land.
We followed others' advice and chose to stay inside the scenic area. This not only saved us the entrance fee but also made it very convenient to tour the scenic area the next day. To be honest, I wasn't very interested in the regular attractions of the scenic area. The highlight of this trip was to let my son personally pick those mouth-watering grapes. When he picked those sweet clusters of grapes with his own hands, the satisfaction and joy on his face made me deeply feel the significance of this trip.
The seedless white grapes here cost only 10 yuan per kilogram. Not only are they affordable, but their taste is also sweet to the core. The climate in Grape Valley is pleasant, with no unbearable summer heat. The cool snow water trickles through, bringing a touch of coolness to the land. To our surprise, there were no annoying mosquitoes or birds, but some flies were flying around. Walking in Grape Valley, you can see mulberry and grape trees over a hundred years old everywhere, witnessing the changes of time and quietly telling the history and stories of Grape Valley.
This trip to Grape Valley was so worthwhile! Its unique charm perfectly interpreted the meaning of the name "Grape Valley" and left an indelible beautiful memory in our family's hearts.
