Perhaps that's why the observatory interior (floors 2-5) is equipped with educational materials, such as the construction of the Geobukseon, as well as observation areas with information on landmarks. It is a useful space where you can enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of Dadohae and learn about the history of Admiral Yi Sun-sin and Mokpo!

I had the chance to visit Gohado Observatory (고하도 전망대) in Mokpo, and I must say, I was deeply impressed 🥹. At first, I thought it would just be an ordinary viewpoint, but once I got up there, it was far better than I expected 🌊🏞️. The building is designed to resemble an ancient battleship, which looks both cool and unique. When you walk up to the highest point, you get a panoramic view of the sea surrounding the island. During the evening, as the sun sets, the orange light reflecting on the water creates an incredibly romantic atmosphere. Even though I went alone, it still felt amazing 🧡. Another thing I loved was the tranquility. There weren’t too many tourists, so I could peacefully sit and enjoy the view in a relaxed manner.

Here's a recommended 2-night, 3-day Mokpo itinerary 🚌🌊. Mokpo is a city where the ocean, islands, history, and delicious food all come together, making it a perfect destination even on a short trip.
