Scotland 4-day tour itinerary! Edinburgh + Highland New Year's guide
Scotland Highland | Highland
The highlands are vast and sparsely populated, completely different from England. The scenery in England is mostly pastoral and gentle, while the scenery in the Scottish Highlands is desolate, rugged and magnificent. 🌬️Even the wind has a taste of freedom💗 The Scottish Highlands can be said to be suitable for travel all year round, and it is also the location of countless magical blockbusters! Especially in winter, the Scottish Highlands with snow as the background are even more poignant and magnificent!
-
🚗Transportation
❗️The distance between the attractions in the highlands is relatively long, it is recommended to drive or join a group~ The weather in the highlands is unpredictable, everyone must check the weather forecast and prepare rain gear! 👇If you plan to go to Scotland, you must not miss this itinerary. If you are short on time, you can join a group like us. But if you have plenty of time, I recommend driving, especially Loch Ness, you can stay there for one night, it's really too beautiful✌️

⛳Recommended attractions in the Scottish Highlands
1️⃣Windermere Lake District
The scenery here has a kind of "lakeside school" poet's charm, and the lake district under the sunset has a bit more tenderness, feeling that you can sit by the lake and stare at the swans and lake water for a long time.
The lake district is not big, it takes about an hour to stroll around.
.
2️⃣Highland Tour
Glencoe Gorge🚌Harry Potter Train🚌Loch Ness + Three Sisters Mountain
Experienced the typical rainy weather in the highlands,
🚞The Glenfinnan Viaduct is the location of the Hogwarts Express, and there is only a steam train from May to September every year
🦕If you have read the story of the Loch Ness Monster since you were a child, you will be a little excited, and you are full of curiosity about this mysterious black lake.
.
3⃣️One-day tour of Edinburgh
It is worthy of being the "Northern Athens" of the Scottish capital. The combination of medieval classics and modernity has a strong sense of story. No wonder it is the source of inspiration for many authors.
.
4⃣️York🚌
Supermarket bars and Chinese food Diagon Alley also have shops open, very Christmas atmosphere

Stunning Scottish Highlands🏴
While driving in Scotland, I couldn't help but be amazed on everything that I saw from inside the car. Cameras just don't do Scottish highlands especially Glencoe any justice. It is breathtakingly gorgeous. All the tall and lush mountains that surround me made me realize just how small and insignificant we are compared to the nature's size and beauty.
I highly reccommend to drive along Glencoe if you are driving to the north of Scotland. You'd be mesmerized by its beauty.
Enjoy!

Scotland's Glencoe Mountains
Location: A few hours drive north west of Glasgow near Fort William.
This is a stunning mountain range where you can hike and photograph the amazing hills.
Located within the awe-inspiring Lochaber Geopark in the Highlands, the deep valley and towering mountains of Glen Coe were carved out centuries ago by icy glaciers and volcanic explosions.
Glencoe village is picturesquely located between the banks of Loch Leven and the mouth of the famous glen, making it the perfect base for exploring the area of Lochaber, known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK.

Three Sisters Viewpoint, Glencoe
Address - Ballachulish PH50 4RJ, United Kingdom (Located in Highland, United Kingdom)
Highlights - One of the most iconic viewpoints Breathtaking views. Scenic spot.
Rating - 5/5
Took a day tour with my friends around Scotland and one of the stop is the Three Sisters Viewpoint! It is definitely one of the most scenic and beautiful places that makes me want to tell everyone that you should visit once!
It is at least 2 hours ride from Glasgow and the only transport available is by car or tour bus.
I would recommend that if you are taking a tour around Scotland, do wear thicker clothes as when I was visiting with my friends, at the moment it was -0°C and my clothes were too thin where it stops me from heading down to view more.
So if you are an explorer, I would suggest you to walk down towards the hiking area to enjoy the beautiful scenery!

The Glencoe Valley in the Scottish Highlands
Glencoe, this mythic landscape, not only inspired the movie 'Brave', but also served as the filming location for epic films such as 'Braveheart' and 'Harry Potter'. Remember in 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban', Hagrid's hut was situated by the shore of Loch Treun, reflecting beautifully with the lake and mountains.
As the western gateway from England to Scotland, Glencoe Valley is coveted by countless travelers for its unique Scottish charm. The River Coe, like a green ribbon, meanders through the valley, adding endless vitality to the land. The valley is often shrouded in mist, as if draped in a mysterious veil. The green vegetation has completely covered the once bare rocky mountains, presenting a vibrant natural tapestry.
Historically, this land was a strategic battleground fiercely contested between Scotland and England, witnessing numerous brave struggles and legends between the two nations. Today, it has become an excellent place for visitors to explore Scottish culture and appreciate the beauty of nature.

Chase after that brave heart: the Scottish Highlands!
►Scotland is divided into highlands and lowlands geographically. If you want to see the real Scotland and trace the source of its national spirit, you have to go to the northern highlands region!
Many travel magazines have called the Scottish Highlands one of the most beautiful scenic areas in Europe! It has not yet been polluted by modern civilization. The hills and wilderness of the Highlands are waiting for people to savor.
►Depart from Edinburgh for a one-day tour, visiting almost all the essential scenic spots in the Scottish Highlands. The specific route is as follows:
Stirling Castle - Cairngorms National Park - Glen Coe - Loch Lomond - Ben Nevis - Fort William - Auchterarder - Caledonian Canal - Loch Ness - Eilean Donan Castle - Grampian Mountains - Perthshire Forests in Central Scotland - Forth Bridge
►Stirling Castle
Departing from Edinburgh, not long after, we saw the Stirling Castle standing tall in the wilderness from afar!
This was once the palace of the Scottish kings. Scottish Queen Mary and James VI lived here. It witnessed many wars and historical movements in Scottish history. In the movie "Braveheart", the protagonist William Wallace commanded a 7,000-strong army to defeat 20,000 English cavalry in the outskirts of Stirling. This was one of the two most important battles in Scottish independence history!
►Glencoe Valley
At first sight of this most famous and largest canyon in Scotland, it shook my heart! The wild grass covers the mountains and fields, lakes run through them, creating an indescribable rugged, lonely, and romantic natural beauty!
At the entrance of the canyon, the scenery of the Three Sisters mountains is the most magnificent, with steep ridges towering above the horizon.
►Fort William town
Fort William is located next to Loch Linnhe and is the gateway town to the Scottish Highlands and many islands in the north, known as the "Gateway to the Highlands". Whether climbing Ben Nevis, hiking Glen Coe, or visiting Loch Ness and Skye Island, Fort William is an important stop that attracts a large number of hikers and climbers every year.
►Loch Ness
Loch Ness is part of the Caledonian Canal, which crosses the Scottish Highlands and connects the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea. It is the third largest freshwater lake in the UK. The bus stops here for 2 hours for free activities, or you can choose to take the Jacobite loch cruise to enjoy the scenery of Loch Ness on the water and visit Urquhart Castle, which is located on the lake.
►Pitlochry Town
As evening approached, the bus arrived at Pitelohri, a small town with a permanent population of only 2,500, the last stop of the day's itinerary.
I love the tranquility of this small town and its clean streets. If I could spend a night in one of these quaint houses, I'm sure the experience would be wonderful!
In front of a certain household's door, their roses and flowers are loved. The owner who can decorate their house like this must be full of love!

Harry Potter filming location | Scotland's stunning hidden gem away from the world
Scotland 🏴 fulfilled all my "escape from the world" fantasies. During these days in Scotland, my eyes were filled with misty and ethereal landscapes, with steep and towering mountains seemingly born in the clouds...
Glen Coe in the Scottish Highlands, the filming location of Harry Potter 🎬. The towering cliffs, trickling streams, like deep blue gems, and undulating mountain ranges ⛰️ make this place a paradise for elves, never disturbed by the outside world.
Hiking enthusiasts are obsessed with the grandeur of nature, climbing to the top of the canyon after 2 hours. As a lazy person like me, I prefer to drive up the mountain road, stop the car along the way to capture the movie-like scenes with a snap of my hand.
ryndal_0113
Glencoe is on the western side of scottish highland and lies in a steep-sided glenco valley. Our journey from Oban is around 60 kilometers 50 minutes drive, if taking public, you can take either bus or train to Fort Willam then transfer to Glencoe. The area is known for waterfalls and trails that climb peaks. Glencoe is the site of the infamous massacre of the MacDonalds in 1692. During summer mountain biking and hiking and numbers of outdoor activities as well.

The majestic alpine valleys of Tyne Dram are washed by rainwater waterfalls
the gullies left by the years
east is a vast wilderness west of the mountains
highlands and grasslands Hundreds of miles can hardly see traces of human smoke
many foreigners come to the Scottish Highlands are driving or riding in the high ground
In fact, the best state is to rent a small car
put a few mountain bikes inside Feel free to stay in a small tree near a small lake or take a tent overnight
the next day you can choose to ride a day tired and return to the car
cover the blanket Take a nap and go on the way to the next stop
sitting in the seat of the foundation of the time to look at the snow-capped mountains
Scottish highland scenery can only be described as heroic and spectacular
