The Cathedral of Girona, located in the heart of the old town, was built in the 11th century in Romanesque style, then changed to Gothic style in the 13th century. Completed in the 18th century, the cathedral is one of the world's most famous Gothic cathedrals. The cathedral stands impressively on nearly 100 steps and is famous for its nave. The cloister of the church is neo-Romanesque, the front facade and main hall are Catalan Baroque, and the side bell tower was built in the 18th century. The very wide Gothic nave is also a symbol of the ideal space of Catalan Gothic architecture. The Church Treasure Museum preserves the complete brocade painting "Genesis" embroidered in Europe between the 11th and 12th centuries, which is very spectacular. The Cathedral is also the location for the filming of the Cathedral of King's Landing in "Game of Thrones".

To all the Game of Thrones fans!!!!!
#timetotravel
When my friends and I were planning our Spanish trip, they insisted on coming to Girona for a day trip. It is because they are Game of Thrones fans and the show filmed some scenes in this town, and this includes the Girona Cathedral and the steps!!
I have never seen Game of Thrones but I equally enjoy visiting the Girona Cathedral because it is a magnificent and beautiful gothic cathedral, it is certainly impressive especially when I walked up the stairs and looked at it closely.
There is also a garden, Jardines de La Francesa located right next to the Cathedral, make sure you visit it as well when you visit!!

Spain | Check out the filming location of "Game of Thrones".
In the northeast of Spain, there is a low-key thousand-year-old city hidden.
Although there are only 100,000 people here, many complete medieval buildings are preserved, such as churches, city walls, neighborhoods...
This small town silently records everything that happened in the Middle Ages. Because of this, it has become a favorite filming location for many movies and TV series. The most famous one is "Game of Thrones", where King's Landing, Braavos and the Citadel were all filmed.
It is only an hour's drive from Barcelona.
The style is completely different. Girona is quiet, simple and mysterious with few people.

Spectacular 11th Century Girona Cathedral 🇪🇸
Visiting Girona Cathedral was an unforgettable experience, standing atop the city with its grand staircase and imposing facade. The intricate details of the Gothic and Romanesque architecture were stunning, and the vast interior, with its high vaulted ceilings, felt both majestic and serene. The cathedral houses the famous Tapestry of Creation, a remarkable medieval artwork. I recommend visiting early in the morning to avoid the crowds and climb the bell tower for panoramic views of Girona. Exploring the nearby Jewish Quarter and walking along the old city walls added to the charm of this historic site.

This year’s Girona Flower Festival was a bit disappointing
This year’s Girona Flower Festival was a bit disappointing
The Flowering Season exhibition takes place every year in Barri Vell, Girona, and in the days leading up to the exhibition the city is filled with plants and flowers. This floral display turns various attractions, courtyards and even corners of the city into unique gardens. Visitors feel like they are in a concert of wonderful colorful aromas, while at the same time admiring the cultural heritage of this Catalan city.
This small town less than half an hour away from Barcelona (high-speed train) is the filming location for "Perfume" and "Game of Thrones". What makes me happiest is that starting from the second week of May every year, the old town (Barri Vell) is filled with flowers, and the whole city turns into a huge garden.
After leaving Girona train station, walk northeast and cross the Pont de pedra bridge. Walking north along the Girona Ramblas de Libertad, you will see the famous red iron bridge Pont de les Peixateries Velles. After crossing the bridge you can see the Cathedral of Girona.
You can start exploring the old town with the Cathedral of Girona as the starting point and landmark. Nearby alleys and historic buildings feature courtyards decorated with flowers and plants.
During the Flower Festival, in addition to the steps in front of the Girona Cathedral being covered with flowers, the courtyard inside the Cathedral is highly recommended. In addition, the path behind the church is very historical.
This festival has a history of more than 60 years. It started with some young entrepreneurs in 1954, held in some halls of the city hall, and has now become an international flower festival. It attracts hundreds of traveling placers from all over the world each year.
Flowers and roses in Girona cover the entire streets, along with the city lights and fountains, adding more beautiful colors to this festival. It's a pity that the flowers in recent years seem to have lacked some of the bright colors that attract people's eyes. Most of the flower baskets are mainly white, including the flower carpet in front of the main church. There are also white flowers, and they are sparse. , lost the shock of previous years. Girona

Girona Cathedral, a tourist destination near Barcelona
#EuropeanTravel
During my trip to Girona, a tourist destination near Barcelona, I stopped by Girona Cathedral.
📍Location: Pl. de la Catedral, s/n, 17004 Girona, Spain
I didn't go inside separately, and I only looked around the outside castle walls, but it was nice!
The views on the right and left sides of the castle walls are different, so I think it would be good to take a leisurely walk around and look around! The weather was nice, so it was really nice to look around.
The bell rings on the hour, and the sound is really loud. Haha. My heart naturally becomes pious..🙏🏻
The view of the town from the cathedral is really pretty, and it's surprisingly spacious, so it's good to look around every nook and cranny, so definitely go!

Visit Girona
I read that it was used as a location for many Game of Thrones scenes and it was more beautiful than expected. So I planned to use it as a way back to Barcelona. If it was beautiful, I could return a little later.
And it was more beautiful than expected. #girona #spain #europe

[Girona Cathedral]
Girona Cathedral was built in the 14th-16th century, one of the world famous Gothic cathedrals. The cloister of the church
is a neo-Roman style, the facade and the main hall are Catalan baroque. The
main hall arch is 23 meters wide and is second only to St. Peter's Basilica in the world's unsupported church buildings.
The most precious piece of art in the church is the brocade painting Genesis, which was exhibited in the Treasure Hall.
Girona's main attraction is this cathedral, an elegant and compact town, this church is the most famous attraction
but more people know it is in the TV series "The game of rights" Inside the
both sides are full of delicious restaurants and lovely shops. It is said that the level of this church is very high,
can be seen through the decoration of the door, it seems to be the number of door wheels,
But the details of the sculpture are both exquisite and vivid, it is indeed a mixed church,
and, this quiet town, pure, calm and calm.
The moment when we arrived at the main church in the dense alleys, it did bring us an unexpected visual impact.
The 99-level heavenly ladder that suddenly turned out of the narrow alley, so did not hesitate to extend upwards and go straight to the church!
Stepping up the steep steps of 99, I think if it is a Christian,
step by step to step into the church, it will be more devout and moving.
