Gaojingyuan is located on the river bank in the city of Liyang, surrounded by water and connected to the land by bridges. This is a small park, because the layout has the characteristics of Suzhou gardens, so the environment is elegant, the ponds, rockeries, pavilions and promenades are scattered, and it is very pleasant to take a walk in the park. Gaojing Park was built in 1930, formerly known as Liyang Park, and was rebuilt in 1987 and changed to its current name. There are many scenic spots in the park, such as Jindou Garden, Peony Pavilion, Wanxiang Pavilion, Qingse Thatched Cottage and so on. The "Gaojing" stone in the garden is a fine product among the Taihu Lake stones. According to legend, it was presented to Zhao Gui, a native of Liyang by Song Huizong. The historical significance of the park is the Taibai Building built on a high pier. Li Bai went to Liyang three times in his life. In the fifteenth year of Tianbao (AD 756), Li Bai and the Grass Sage Zhang Xu had a banquet in Liyang Restaurant, and wrote "Fighting Tigers". There is a full-body statue of Li Bai in the building, which reproduces the spirit of the great poet holding a candle in the wind and singing generously.
