Secret cable car in the Dolomite mountains, Italy
Secret cable car in Dolomite, Italy
This cable car is called Forcella Sassolungo or another name that people call it is offin lift Forcella Sassolungo. The literal translation is coffin lift. It sounds very creepy. Just the name makes me hesitate that if I come to Dolomite, I must try to ride this lift or cable car. There are not many reviews, so I decided to come and visit and see how creepy it is...
When I arrived, I did not hesitate... I rushed to see what it was, what it looked like, and how to ride it. The cable car has a vertical shape and is a bar for you to stand on. When I saw it, I exclaimed... oh, the standing position is like a coffin. Because of the strange appearance of the cable car, people call it a coffin lift. Only 1-2 people can ride 1 lift. And the way to ride is even more bizarre. When the lift is almost there, you have to get ready to run up. There is an officer who rushes to open the door for us. We push us into the lift and lock it from the outside!!!
When I stood inside, it was quite cramped because the space was narrow and it swayed back and forth a little. From the bottom, it gradually climbs higher and higher. And my heart beats because The cable car will pass through a narrow passage to the crevice of the rocky mountain or Dolomites. Swing back and forth and you will reach the top.
The top will be a high cliff, which is the highlight for mountain climbers. It is a sport specific to mountain climbers who conquer the Dolomites. There is a coffee shop where you can rest your body and mind and take pictures. The view from the top is so exciting. I made the right decision to have the opportunity to visit this secret place that not many people have reviewed.
I think anyone who visits the Dolomites and secretly inserts this cable car schedule, they will not be disappointed.
