EKA Tianwu | More Than Just Architecture, It’s the Art of Living
💒EKA Tianwu is located at No. 535 Jinqiao Road, Pudong, Shanghai. The site was originally the China Ship Navigation Instrument Factory and has been transformed into an artistic and cultural district that accommodates living, working, growth, and creativity. It partially opened to the public in 2023 and will officially debut in mid-2024.
🪂Architectural Features
🎡 Diverse Styles: The entire park consists of more than 30 buildings with various styles, making it an "open-air architecture museum." There are Chinese courtyard-style buildings, old Shanghai Shikumen buildings, Nordic-style buildings, Middle Eastern-style buildings, Greek Mediterranean-style buildings, and even structures resembling "Buddhist" architecture and "London King's Cross Station." Each building is unique, making visitors feel as if they are in different countries and regions.
⛺️ Fusion of Old and New: The project preserves the original industrial architectural style while renovating it, creating a strong visual impact through the collision of old and new elements. For example, some old factory red brick walls have been retained and combined with modern design techniques and materials, preserving the weight of history while giving the buildings new vitality.
🏘 Spacious and Deep Layout: The former factory buildings give EKA Tianwu an overall open and spacious architectural framework. However, inside the park, a combination of plazas of various sizes, alleys, and factory-style roads creates some deep spaces, allowing visitors to continuously discover new surprises while strolling, enhancing the joy of exploration.
🌎 Harmonious Water Features and Architecture: The park has large water features, such as the water plaza in front of Lambach, where the building outlines are reflected on the water surface, complementing the architecture and creating a tranquil and beautiful atmosphere. Additionally, there are some water feature courtyards that add a lively beauty to the buildings.
🌐 A Great Spot for Photos and Check-ins: Whether it’s the building exteriors, water features, courtyards, or the flowers and trees along the streets, everything is highly aesthetic and perfect for taking photos and checking in.
🌐 A Perfect Place to Relax: Here, you can temporarily forget the hustle and bustle of the city, slow down, and enjoy a peaceful and beautiful moment. Whether strolling with friends, having a coffee in a café, sunbathing on the grass, or daydreaming by the water, it allows your body and mind to fully relax.
