When the desert sun sets, Dunhuang transforms into a lively oasis 🌵✨. The Dunhuang Night Market is where flavors, colors, and sounds of the Silk Road truly come alive.
🍢 Food Paradise
From grilled lamb skewers to handmade noodles, stone-baked bread to apricot juice, every stall invites you to taste the richness of Gansu cuisine. Don’t miss the local specialty – camel milk yogurt 🐪🥛!
🎭 Cultural Vibes
Beyond food, the market brims with local crafts, Silk Road souvenirs, shadow puppets, and ethnic music performances. It’s not just shopping – it’s a cultural showcase.
📸 Photo Tip
Capture the glowing lanterns overhead and the bustling food alleys – they perfectly capture the “Silk Road at night” vibe.
💡 Tips for Visitors
• Best visited after 7pm when the lights are on and stalls are fully open.
• Go with an appetite – portion sizes are generous!

Recalling the free travel with friends along the way, visiting the morning market, taking the subway, taking a taxi, and catching the train. . .
Every day I walk at least 10,000 steps. Although I was tired for a few days after returning home,
I still miss those days. .

Northwest Loop | The Silk Road is bustling with sleepless nights
Dunhuang, a place that sounds very dazzling just by its name. Although the city is small, the nightlife is really non-stop.
The whole night market from beginning to end, eating, drinking and having fun, is bustling. In addition to the various handicrafts in the front section of the main line + various big stalls in the back section of the main line, there are also many eateries gathered in the alleys on both sides.
The first right side of the main line is where I checked in for the beef and onion pancake. There are many people in line, and the taste is not bad, but the pancake is not flexible enough, it is recommended to knead it again
The first left alley of the main line didn't find anything after a round. The snack part on the left side of the main line interruption is simply another village in the dark! Each shop is uniform, but the atmosphere is super strong! All the tables and benches are full of people, you have to wait! Take it first!
I hurriedly found a seat and sat down, ordered grilled fish and sheep's head. The grilled fish is super delicious. The taste of the sheep's head is also good. It's just that you need 4 people to eat it, it's a big portion. The freshness of the ingredients is ok, and I didn't run to the toilet when I went back. 😃
You can bring some local products to your family and friends here. Mud board painting is very characteristic. If you think it's expensive, you can look for it online after you've looked at it. They are all available.

Explore China with foods and friends
Normally I don't eat Chinese food, but after I arrived here, I intended to eat different kinds of food and get to try to know more about food and friends.
It makes my day.
Let's go to the Muslim Street Food or food market everywhere you pass.
Just point the food or take the picture of food and pay money

Shopping i
Shopping in Dunhuang at night, the locals recommend us to the Dunhuang Night Market, which is full of colors, in addition to local snacks, fruit, and dazzling small souvenirs. Luminous cups, gourd carvings, wood carvings, beeswax, and many handicrafts. What I like most is the antique paintings of the Mogao Grottoes, and I can still see the fallen soil.
