Clothing
Bring a down jacket, even if it's in the teens, it's really cold when the wind blows by the sea, especially at night.
Accommodation
You can stay near Zengcuoan, there are many homestays, now off-season basically more than a hundred a night, across the street is the sea a few steps away. The downside is that Zengcuoan is a tourist spot with many people and cars, homestays near the snack street may be noisy, if you take a taxi, you have to walk a few steps out, otherwise it's quite congested. It is recommended to stay in a homestay a bit outside of Zengcuoan, quiet, convenient for taxis.
You can also stay around Xiamen University and Nanputuo Temple, it's convenient to go anywhere.
👍Recommended route
Zengcuoan—Music Square—Haiyuntai—Huangcuo—Yefengzhai
—Forest Sea Line Tianquan Square
The last square is across the street, it's not very convenient to cross the road on Xiamen's island road, so you may have to go back, you can choose appropriately.
Xiamen University—Nanputuo—Botanical Garden—Zhonggu Cableway—Zhongshan Road
Zhonggu Cableway tickets are hard to book online, don't worry, it closes at 5:30 in the afternoon, go early and queue up to buy tickets on the spot, as long as there are not too many people, you can get on.
Eight Market—Shapowei—Zhongshan Park—Qingshui Palace to take pictures of planes—Jimei School Village—Shili Changdi
This route can be taken directly by subway line 1, experience the small train on the sea, get out of Shapowei to Zhongshan Park Station and take line 1, get off at Dianqian Station and walk to Qingshui Palace, then continue to take two stops to Jimei School Village Station.
Travel
Didi taxi is very convenient, but Xiamen's traffic is also very congested. Some routes can take the subway.
You can rent a bicycle, it's a bit far to walk, but note that if you ride a shared bicycle, many places don't have a return point. Especially around Huangcuo, the return points are all across the street, but you can't get across, so you have to ride back, otherwise you have to pay a 50 yuan dispatch fee.
