Suburban Tour of Tai'an - Huizhou Architecture You Can See Without Leaving the Province
After searching online for a day trip destination during the Spring Festival, I found a group of Huizhou-style buildings.
Chaiwen River Cultural City is named after the Chaiwen River, which is a branch of the Wen River. Inside the cultural city, there are museums, art galleries, the top scholar's mansion, and more. Next door, there's a flower, bird, and fish market, as well as a cultural playthings market to explore, and you can even take photos in ancient costumes inside the cultural city.
A place of utter devotion, where dreams of Huizhou come true.
The layered beauty of the horse-head walls can also be experienced here. Although it's small, the scenery is pleasant and free of charge, making it worth a visit.
The flower, bird, and cultural playthings market is also quite busy, and you might find something you like.
📍Location: No. 19 Wenhe Road, Xintai City, Tai'an, Shandong Province
💰Average cost: Free admission
📝Travel Tips:
Tour counterclockwise
Start with the Huizhou-style garden - flower, bird, and cultural playthings market - circle around the back yard and then look at the western buildings
There's only one restroom in the entire cultural city, located inside the cultural playthings market
⏰Duration: 1-2 hours. The whole garden is quite small, and the museum was not open during the Spring Festival, so the visit is quite quick, and it feels like taking photos is what takes up time. Including the adjacent flower and bird market, I browsed for a little over an hour.
🚘Transportation: Self-driving is recommended, parking is available.
